do you have any infp n the new p plater laws coming in on july

there wouldnt be any except for wat you can find in the media.

nothin can really be provided based on the fact none of its gone through parliment to pass it as laws, etc.

creating documents, etc now and uploadin for ppl to view could be a waste of time if details within those documents would then need to be changed at a later date once everything has gone through parliment.

Another document i found hiding in my comp

Police Powers And Responsibilities Act

i believe its still up to date

Lets you know exactily what the cops are allowed to do

and therefore you will know if they are not allowed to do something

(i like to be well informed)

Police powers and Responsibilities act keeps getting changed, but not in the area's you'd be worried about. Its pretty big so your better off just looking at sections. I can summarise it for you if you want....the police were the ones to create this act and they drafted it for parliment. Short story, they get to do pretty much anything they want and you have to contest or sue if you dont like it, however the law is usually not in your favour.

Second the l/p plate changes are on the site below, they have been approved and are coming to qld. http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/LTASinf...ers_diagram.pdf

i dont think so

the purchase date of the car has no bearing on the changes

its all to do with the licence date

i.e on your P's you cant drive someone else's turbo so why would you be allowed to drive your own just cause you bought it 2 year ago

Unfortunately

Guys, the modification PDF CLEARLY states on the first page that it is to be used as a guide only and cannot be used as a reference to a point of law.

You can't keep it in the car and tell the police it's ok cause it is in that PDF...

first rule of checking any laws, dont bother calling transport they never know wtf is going on. Its all coming in on July 1, most of the new laws will only affect people gaining their provisional license after July 1 though. You can reference the police to that pdf, but regardless they wont care. The only way you can have a decision by a police officer overturned is in court and as crimpage said if the pdf isn't correct in respect to the law, youve got nothing.

it will be a hp limit and then a power to weight ratio limit...dont like your chances of getting a skyline or any import really, if that is indeed what you plan to buy. Not trying to dampen your spirit, just be realistic. The police intend to stop inexperienced drivers from driving fast cars, not just high hp ones...light ones with decent engines will also be ruled out. And im not so sure its a bad thing, the power restrictions probably will limit crashes and deaths somewhat, that and it doesnt affect me.
