Was just sittin on the net ere at mooba and i heard this external gate screamin up the road.. then i heard a screach, then more wastegate.. then a SMASH! then nothing so i grabbed the phone, keys and headed down stairs, and 200m from my place i spotted 17DIS supra.. anyway.. look at the pic

DSC00013.jpg

Supposidly he booted it, the ass went out, he clipped the high gutter which sent him flyin into a parked car... no breaks...

thankfully nobody was hurt, even more of a reason why we need a motorsport complex on the coast.. to get people to stop trying to drift on suburban streets ffs

sh*t he must have been carrying a bit of speed....this will do wonders for the image of imports and the general car scene on the coast. Cant wait to see it on the news tomorrow, I think I can already guess the story!

yeah, great... guess i should de-register the 31 and lock it in the garage for the next 6 months... i'd already had a chat with the local laws of maroochy tonite, and basically.. there nuckling down after Jd and the rest died when they hit the tree.. the pressures on.. and young people in performance cars are now a big target

as quoted from a female officer tonite "You drive a skyline, that is a hoon car, the only reason you drive it is because it is a hoon car, even if you dont want to admit it, even if you drive it around normally, you drive around in packs and encourage others to hoon"

woo.... joys

This was one of the guys of the www.sunshinecoastcruising.com forum....his car was, from what ive read on there pushing out around 400hp with a big single....no real details of the engine that I could find without looking properly. The police have no idea what "hooning" even is they just classify it as driving in anything modified now, its rediculous but thats how it is and this type of thing only reinforces the distorted image they already have of the modified car scene.

it was claimed to have had over 500rwhp, but when we saw i run the other weekend it wasnt impressive at all and ceratinly not performing to its claimed 500hp although it did have a bucket load of money spent on it, he used to own a blue r33 and another r33 before that and was active on this forum at one stage. Its a shame cause it was a nice car but you do stupid things in public areas stupid consequences will eventually occur

god is she a dyke. typical uneducated cop off the street. I dont think thats a fair statement to say to a community that enjoys automotive recreation. my 2c.

:P

this makes me incredibly sad, really

a gun doesn't make someone a murderer, the person who uses it incorrectly is the murderer

stupid f**kwit police, and stupid f**kwits in imports

Yeah, well, if i drive around in my car most times under the speed limit, and they classify me as a hoon, then what do they classify the dickwit business men in their m3's or bmw's who do 160 on the highway?

and fair enough young people who drive performance cars sometimes crash, like the accident up ere with JD and the rest of em in the statesman which hit the tree and killed 3 of em, now there all full on about hoons etc, but they need to even it out a bit and stop pushing the blame onto performance car/import drivers because geez ive watched the news and seen the reports on familys dying while towing there caravan etc but they dont target them, im sure mr business man isnt paranoid about the police when he goes to his car of a evening.... why should I have to feel paranoid because i drive a nice car?

this topic sort of shifted abit. I think the point is the guy knew how fast the car was, hes been driving high performance cars for awhile now & he should of known better than to drive so crazy on a suburban public street. Theres nothing worse than having your car damaged by another bad driver.

unlucky buddy,

That's not UNLUCKY, that's f#k'n STUPIDITY!!!

The sooner we as a collective realise & act upon the fact that stupid acts by an absolute minority of Import owners/drivers are the reason we all get un-fairly targeted for the cars that we choose to drive the sooner we may be able to have that attitude reversed.

 Comments like "Unlucky buddy" & the mentality that goes with it do NOT help our cause........ :ermm:

But, if we are all REALLY honest, its pretty true. I know lots of people who go down the coast, they dont race, yet they are always in the pack to watch the races... As the saying goes, you dont buy a fast car to not go fast.

I鈥檓 sceptical at 500rwhp. But that鈥檚 not the point.. Rodgers mates drive this Supra like fools, if in fact it was one of his mates driving; this crash does not surprise me to be honest.

Shame though, was a nice car, and sounded sexy as.

I believe tonight on the New鈥檚 they did yet ANOTHER Hoon story, using this Supra? Or perhaps it鈥檚 on tomorrow.

    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
    • My extinguisher mounted like this unscrewed a little (Maybe from the chair sliding forward) and dumped a bit of white on my mats. I'll need to get a more narrow one for future.
    • I totally couldn't do the whole kids taking up my life thing! 馃槷 I find it bad enough doing 45 hours in 4 days, and then fitting normal adulting life into the other 3 with no kids! As for my mates race cars, they're AMG C63 setup for production racing. The original is what has just been stripped and a brand new shell built. The original is then going away to have some panels straightened, then it will be put back together again. Then there's a third that will shortly head off to have a roll cage put in, then build it up too. And potentially a fourth to be built too... Oh, and he has two Renault Clio D class production cars, ha ha. And when he's not racing them in the Australians and QLD production championships, he's been racing one of Chaz Mostert's Lamborghini's in GT4. They just won GT4 at the 12 hour in the Lambo. We're pushing to finish the new AMG as it has its first round (and potentially its first shakedown/outing) in under w weeks for Round one of QPC, and that round is really the shakedown to make sure it's all good for the Bathurst 6 hour, which I'll be at too. Ha ha ha Working on my project is different to his, I slowly tinker and work ways to make things happen on a shoe string budget. Hes in a good position that he has a massive workshop full of parts and tools, ha ha. He also looks after me. When his air compressor died, he just needed it working, so bought himself a new one and gave the old to me. Sand blaster unit too, and a 20t pressing. And pretty much all the shelving in my shed too as he upgraded all of his (the stuff he gave me is the expensive black Bunnings heavy duty stuff)!   I enjoy working on his stuff. No decision paralysis, and anything that's needed parts wise is just there. Plus, then I get to be hands on at the track in real racing, not just club day stuff.
    • I know which one I'd prefer to have in my garage, and which one I'd actually drive as intended
    • Yeah mate, no probs. Just swap the email addresses?
