In the comparisions of the rz, gtt, s15 and rx7 which did they believe to come out on top?

Is it a new mag will it still be instores?

believe it or not, the rx7 won (despite having hte lowest power). then came the s15 or the gtt and last the supra - but power wise, supra was the best. All had basic mods - intercooler, pod and exhaust. I bought the mag 1 or 2 years ago, you might be able to find it at borders (sometimes they have special packages that come with older mags) or u can order it online via back issues i think

i got that mag (speed) sitting right in my car mag stack - its missing some pages but meh. yes, rx7 series 5 - s15 - gtt - supra (in that order). also has nice write up of 1jz/2jz mods as well as detailed coverage of gt autosound s15.

thing about supra's is that its more then likely you are going to need to purchase parts directly from the U.S or use workshops like boostworx/crd/tilbrooks if you intend to modify it. either way, it aint cheap but then again nor is modding to a gtr.

i think you are either blind or naive if you think there isnt as many gtr's on the road as other imports, in this case gtt or any other skyline for that matter.

as for the gtt review, it states that its a 2000 spec. btw the supra and gtt were from motor city imports (long gone now) except for newsome's s15 - im sure everyone has seen this car either back then or now, and the series 5.

is you really want, i'll look for a scanner and scan the pages for you as i dont have one at home.

I've looked into it Adz, for a good 2JZ you would want around 17-20 thousand dollars. much less for automatic models.

S15 are a little more expensive, nice cars, some superior handling characteristics in my opinion,

RX7 much more expensive for that same year, but they are the ultra-weapon,

and Skyline GT-t comes in at a good price and good power, nothing to extravagant, but its definitely not too sensible either. nice balance, love em.

That would be excellent if you could do that. my email address is [email protected] if u would like to email.

To be totally honest what im looking for is a car that could blow away 90% of the other cars on the road. Im not going to be dragging it down at a strip just a quick burst from the lights. And i want something that will beat most other imports and KILL new falcon and commadore v8s

$20,000 is my limit for spending money.

Love the supras and skylines. and the others are out of price reach. the only other car i was looking at was a my99 WRX

*sigh*

if all you wanna do is drag commo's at the lights.

buy a commo.

oh hey thats not the only thing i wanna do, i wanna join a club, get into car runs wid young people, do what ever they organise etc.

Have you been in any of these cars before to comapre how they go, or do you like the look of any of these cars? You can get decent power out of any of these cars you talk about, but i think you really have to like the look of it too!

Have looked at 2 supras love the look, one GTR R32 love the look, and lots of jus R32s. Havent driven any of them yet. 4wd is only in the GTRs yer so the GTTs is jus two wheel drive? sorry bout sounding stupid been into V8s for so long!

ha, ok... if you got 20k to spend on one of these performance vehicles. id get a R32 or R33 series 2. and spend the rest minus ins and rego to mod it a bit. thats your best bet. either way dont expect for most these mods to stay on the car forevor if u run into 5-0.

You can view all the flavours of Supra (not to mention almost any other JDM vehicle) here:

http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/supra/

IMHO they're a great car in a straight line, not so great in the bends, and you can't fault the 2JZGTE, beauty of an engine.

Makes you wonder why the RB26DETT never got variable valve timing when you look at those torque figures.

450 Nm @ 3600 RPM vs. 390 Nm @ 4400 RPM

There's more than just 400cc extra displacement at play there.

$20,000 is jus the car price i can go up to, i have left alittle aside for mods after. What type of R32 or 33? u mean GTSTs? the 2wd yer?

Feel free guys to talk to me lik im an idiot cos when it comes to these kinda cars i am!

I have $20,000 to spend on the car, a couple thousand to throw at some mods.

What car would you buy and what mods would you do to it, to make it the quickest it possiably can be? all roughly in my budget

r33 gtst - 16k for stock (or there abouts)

depending on your age, insurance varies - for me 25 - $1000

rego around 600 or so

leaves u with 2400 for mods

r32 gts-t around 13k? insurance around 1000 for a 25 year old and rego - leaves u with 5400 for mods

EDIT: for the r33 with $2400 for mods -> around 1200 for turbo back exhaust, 100 for pod, leaves u with 900 for powerfc (i think) and $200 remaining- boost to around 10 or 11psi and thats your minor mods done (i think :) )

GTS, GTS-t, GT-t, GT-x, etc etc are all 2WD.

the GTR and GTS-4's are AWD.

and any GTR you pick up under 20k is bound to have some serious issues.

R32 GTS-t's, and the R33 equivalent will be your best bet.

unless you wanna look a bit more retro.

local R31's can be picked up for a few hundred dollars these days, can be easily turbocharged, and aren't bad looking either.

the Jap equivalents (available in coupe, sedan, pillarless sedan, wagon) can be had for a few thousand, spend the rest on updating the engine, suspension, brakes, etc. most of the later model gear can be fitted to the old 31's.

but to tell you this now, even you get yourself a mint R32 GTR, unless its been modified a bit, itll probably get its ass handed to it by a new SS in a straight line.

you have to factor in insurance, stamp duty etc etc and then it looks expensive rather quickly. although you stated that you have extra money on top of the 20K, its still going to leave you short for mods if you looking at supra/wrx or gtr.
