Weird Tacho

hey guys

my tacho has a little fit at 3000rpm... bounces left to right untill the revs get up to 3500rpm then its fine... it has been doing this for about 5 years, worked fine 1 day while i was passenger with the last owner/mate of mine... then BANG lol it started to do stupid stuff.. my mate said it stopped doing it for half an hour when he changed the coils over but then it started doing it again, i have owned the car for 3 years now and i just did a search here while being bored and i couldnt seem to find anyone with the same problem ohh and by the way, the fc commander doesnt jump around in revs...

so what im asking of all you guys is..... does anyone know what the hell is wrong with it lol

Mine is doing some crazy stuff to. Sometimes it decides to work but is 1000rpm out.

I have been told to pull the dash apart and check/clean the rear contacts of the tacho. Ill probably do this once i get a white dial kit... kill 2 birds with one stone.
