I am looking for a wiring diagram or a bit of help with the wiring colors of an Ultra Speed Meter 4000 I have bought (second hand) so that I can fit it too the car and remove the speed limiter.

The wire colors are

Red (which looks like 12v +)

Black (which looks like earth)

Green (which I am told goes to the rev imput on the ecu)

Purple (which I have been told goes to the cut wire in 53 but which side (comp or harness) I dont know)

Orange (same as the purple)

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Mick.

I would put purple to the loom side of 53 and orange to the ECU side if you don't get a speedreading reverse them. Green should be spliced into the rev signal wire.

On the R33 looking at the loom side of the ecu plug oriented to plug into the ecu

green goes to wire 7 which is 4th on the left top row from the centre fixing

purple/orange to wire 53 8th from the right hand end bottom row

red/power supply splices into 59 which is 2nd from right bottom row.

black goes to 50 whic is 1st from right top row

Ive got this speed meter as well, but ive never seen a manual for it. P-O is the menu where you have to select the pulse width of the speed sensor i think? If you press the pulse button, you can cycle through the different pulse width settings. Im pretty sure the correct p value is 6? If it isnt, you will just get a speed reading which is out by some factor.

Then just press the speed button once to display your speed, or twice to display top speed i think.

To do a 0-400m run, you need to be stopped and press the 0-400m button twice. Then just drive and it will beep when 400m is up and show you the ET. press 0-400m button again to see your terminal speed.

Ive never pressed the trip button, may as well just use the odometer in the dash.

If you cant get any buttons to work, maybe take it apart and see if the wiring is still connected on the inside. Mine never used to show the third number in the speed (eg the 1 in 100) until i went in and played with the connections a bit.

Hope this helps,

Rhett
