I just got approval for an FMIC from my insurer, and i was looking at the Hybrid kits, specifically, the GT-Spec kit. I was also looking at running a Power FC with boost controller kit.

My question is, the GT-Spec kit Hyrbid Intercooler how well does this fit behind a Series 2 front bar? I'm not planning on fitting it myself as my mechanical knowledge is limited, but will it sit nicely behind the bar?

And secondly, currently the car is mostly stock with just an exhaust system. i might take it further later, but would the Power FC be the way to go to run more boost? My reasoning is if i decide to go hi-flow turbo etc later on, at least i have the foundations to build on. Are there any downsides to running it on a pretty much stock car?

Thanks for any help and opinions!

Only downside being is that you will have to retune your car when you do get bigger turbo and injectors etc etc..

Im not to sure if you will have to retune once you get full exhaust done..

Now are you able to source a power fc yet?? Since they have stopped production, and only making limited stock for back orders.. it might be hard to source one out now..

Anyways, you will have to trim a bit behind the bar. Depending on the piping, you might have to cut a little semi-circle on the left hand side of the bar for the piping..

Other than that, it sits nicely behind the bar..

Theres more trimming with the series 1 bar tho..

But at this stage i would recommened getting a full exhaust done.. ie hiflow cat, and spilt dump/front pipe.. Then get a FMIC, boost controller and then tune your car up..

But either way if you can source a power fc right now, it would come in handy for sure!!

Gd investment for the car!!

I currently have a Kakimoto exhaust system, but i'm not sure on the specifics of it.

Didn't know they stopped production!

Thanks for that! I know it'd need to be retuned every time something changed on the car, but i guess it's better to have it there for later use than make some changes and find i need to buy one later on. I'll look into the exhaust side of things and see what changes need to be made. Thanks!

i have a hybrid gt spec on my s2, sits very nicely behind the standard bar. the bar itslef needs to be shortened a little depth wise on the intake and as said above the cooler pipes sit below the fog lights so a slight bit of cutting in required under there. looks very nice though, cos you can see the end tanks and the pipes under the fog / indicator assembly.
