Adam,

Out of interest, what were the symptoms of your broken ringland? Was it a major failure that was obvious (bang, smoke, noises that shouldn't be there etc) or a gradual thing? I'm guessing there was audible detonation?

Hi whatsisname i had no warning didnt hear any pinging had it on a dyno for a tune up drove it home got up in the morning poped the hood and i noticed oil had been spraying out the BOV and boost solinoid .Took the car for a drive it still had heaps of power. So i took the car to PSI performance and he tested the comp ratios and thats when i was told the bad news that i needed a rebuild

Good to see all is well now mate (many $$$ later).

So on the pre "bad news" test drive did it make any nasty noises? Anything else (other than the oil out the BOV & solenoid)?

Thought it'd be a good idea to get a bit of this kinda' info on the forum, for future reference.
