Hi

i have just installed an autometer tacho into my skyline and i have 2 questions.

1 when the iginition is off the needle on the aftermarket tacho sits on 800 rpm then when the ignition is on it moves to zero is this normal?

2 if the stock tacho says 1500 rpm the aftermarket one says 1400 rpm. then at 2500 rpm the aftermarket one says 2300 rpm. the more the revs the more the difference between the two. the aftermarket one is always less. can someone expain to me what might be wrong?

thanks

mark

the 800rpm with engine of is normal for autometer gauges from what ive seen, also i think there is a toggle switch for autometer tacho's somewhere on the unit to select amount of cylinders the gauge is hooked up 2, possibly the cause of the diff tacho at diff rpm. other then that get a digital meter and see which ones correct :(
