Okay, here goes. First, what a great forum. I've been lurking for a month or so.

Just bought a freshly imported R32 GTS-T and drove it 200 kms last night. I've always wanted something decent and fun to drive (been driving a Diesel Patrol ute for 15 years) and my requirements start with rear wheel drive. I've owned and driven a heap of cars including all sorts of Holdens and Fords and was blowing around Sydney in my mates WRX the other day when we were visiting from VIC. This is what got me hankering after a turbo.

Now, let the gushing begin. Forget performace for a minute. This is one hell of a rock solid car. I couldn't belive how well weighted it feels and how it just feels planted on the road. For me the steering felt a lot more "true" than the Subie, and this for a pretty old car. Compared to the Holdens and Fords I've driven I felt like I was driving a Porsche.

I've read other forums where the V8 vs Turbo crap does it's thing again (and again) but all this performance stuff aside, these cars flog the Aussie product into the dirt I'm afraid to say. My missus drives a VT that we bought new in '98 and it felt like a boat compared to this thing not to mention the creaks and groans from new. If I'd known better I would have bought a four door Skyline for a family car.

Anyway, point is I feel like an idiot for waiting so long. Thanks to all the enthusiast who finally got me to see the light.

Incidentally, I've allowed a healthy budget for slow and steady upgrades. I want to start by getting rid of some weight before any other mods. In no great hurry really.

And yes I know I'll hit problems and be swearing at the thing some days but today I'm really happy. And anyway, when I hit problems I'll have you guys to turn to.

Thanks

Willie
