Due to popular demand, i have posted my personal drift settings for the game gran torismo 3.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Setup works better on the following cars:

S13/S14/S15/180sx/R32GTST/ALTEZZA/FX7FC/TURENO

For other cars with different weight displacement, modifications need to be made to these settings.

Car Modifications:

- Full Racing Suspension

- Sports Brakes & Balance Controller

- Stage 3 Turbo

- Racing Intercooler

- Racing Muffler

- Sports Chip

- Port and Polish

- Full Engine Balance

- Full Racing Transmission

- Triple Clutch

- Racing Flywheel

- Carbon Driveshaft

- LSD Full Customize

- Weight Reduction Stage 3

Basically you need the best stage of all these modifications

"IMPORTANT"

Tires play a big part in this, you NEED simulations on the back and the best racing tires on the front.

Dont forget to set - ASM and TCS set to zero. That is, anti sway, and traction controol.

Settings:

SR - minimum /minimum

RH - minimum/minimum

Bound - 6 / 7

Rebound - 6 / 7

Camber - 6.0 / 1.0

Toe - -1.5 / 0.5

Stabs - 2 / 4

Brakes - Rear:9 / Front: 24

LSD: Initial = 20, Accel = 50, Decel = 20

With the Gear ratios, on stage 3 turbo, try and drop it down by about 3to 4. say your on 30, get it down to 27ish.

Altezza = RWD

FX7FC.. do you mean RX-7 FC? yes.

3. can we use a stage 4 turbo instead of a stage 3.. like on the S15, dont do that, way too much lag, and you need to lower the gear ratios, and with lotsa lag, compensated with gear ratios...it frys the tires WAY to easly, and its not as fun or realistic or easy.

4. are FD RX-7's any good?....yes.

yeah the same with me. i set them with my standards then tune them after that... what settings do you use as your "Trial Tune"? the way i set mine is, Tires Super Soft in the front and Med in the rear, I get the best in ALL the mods. I tune the suspention slammed... then the bound and rebound one step down on the front, camber 0 front 3 rear, tranny i make the gearing to the middle for the max of both worlds :P , then i just play around with thows settings... after i do a trial run.

apparently GT4's engine should be able to much more accurate emulate drifto..

yeah it does it feels just like my car when i go sideways... its even more fun when you use a steering wheel with GT3 but GT4 WILL be better... i can wait

I like using the 22B Subaru for drift.

Sounds crazy I know, but it is the best car I've used so far.

You need to have it fully modified with the best of everything, then you have to set the torque split to 10/90 and the ASM and TCS to 0. Also you have to use simulation tyres.

you mean you like to drift in free run mode?

or you use the A/B/C class cars in free run without mods?

unmodded car drifting?

predator666:, i gather you know what real drifting feels like....and yeh you get most of the feeling, apart from the inertia feelings you get in a real car...

i wish there was a GT3 meet or LAN style meet for this, cus id love to drift with the best in a 6 player shoot out.

perhaps we can all go get GOLIVE or whatever it is and play online with eachother heheh.

    • The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.
    • Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)
    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
