If the steering angle is incorrect, you will get an error code telling you that.

I have a stock wheel on my series II R33. I do get an error code telling me that my speed sensor is not present. I have done this diag on several other R33's with great sucess....

I don't always get the car to wiggle it's bum ( it does this the first 5 or 6 times that you put it into diag mode) as I believe that you may need to reset the ECU after several attempts....... As everytime I try to put it into diag mode now for the HICAS, it just shows up the error code (21 in my instance) pretty much straight away....

When I get a chance, I will re-set the ECU and see if that makes any difference :(

I've found out with one sensor that ECU doesn't always detect a slight fluctuation in voltage.

For example the voltage difference was roughly 0.02v from recommended voltage

for that sensor. Basically wasn't enough for ECU to detect sensor is faulty and

produce an error code. ECU thought everything was working properly.

Found this problem sensor by checking via volt meter at the sensors.

That's interesting about the 5-6 times.

If anyone needs a hicas computer i have one...

and other random hiscas stuff..

hicas is teh pooh

Question is.. Can I run the standard computer and start the car to run the test with.

non standard afm. Non standard injectors. I think not. But please correct me if im wrong.

i know it theoretically it should work but its not. Me and joe tried at length on the phone to get it working but no go, also i have messaged paulr33 on this matter, but no one has confirmed it works with the pfc yet. Have you got it working yet?

nah, still no love :).

Its interesting now the problem has shown another form of itself.

Last night, after i started it, the hicas came on, Stayed on, But the powersteering was still working this time ;). but the ACC throttle blip still didnt work.

im surprised you dont have one already drift-man :)

(its the first thing i did to my 32 when i got it)

lol zennon i dnt have one buddy.. my 180 dont have hicas eww..

suspension wise i got rear traction rods. rear under brace strut brace F+R and Teins all round on 1.5neg

will have steering spacer no more rubber one and castor rods front and front underbace. oh and the 2way diff helps :)

the other 180sx has hicas and be getting a lock bar soon.

but ill prob pull the engine out and doin all pro

when i do the RB25 unless i get bored one arvo..

oh and zennon first thing i did when i got my 180sx the very arvo was raise the bonnet and put a nardi on.

seriously i dont understand why u guys dont just lock the f**king thing up. beats tearing ur hair out trying to find an electronic issue amongst all the crap.

but thats just me *shrugs*

It really helps turn in, and stability on sweeping corners. I am not using the car for drifting, so Id like to continue to use it. Really comes down to driver preference, And Id like to see how far I can excel with the Hicas. Ive driven Non hicas cars my whole life, And Im liking the technology.

Please dont whore this thread. Lets keep discussions on track.

    • Yeah the issue here is that we have a lot of topics, unless we matched on the exact word & phrase we'd get a million topics and the one you want will not likely be in the top 20 or so.
    • Yeah great idea, I have already added R32 Wiring Diagram but we can add as many as we want. 100% ! This has been something I've wanted to do for a while. I thought we could have a way for people to 'suggest' a link be added to the library when they come across something good.  We could kick this along by allowing members (maybe a subset) to tag threads they find to allow us to more easily find/locate/use good content, ie a tag 'for-library' which can then be added to the library and maybe have the tags reviewed and updated to better match the content. This would make it easier then to find the content when not using the library. We can also create pages that have lists of content with specific tags. That would allow us to add a tag and then have it automatically added to a page. We could have a page just for the 'for-library' content that we could then moderate and put wherever.  This excites me, the lack of structure with the amount of content is a little overwhelming.
    • Of course you can. That was a waste. Straight down one oil drain gallery and out the sump hole. Could at least have run the engine a little (obviously with at least minimum oil level on the stick).
    • Oh really? Maybe I'm being silly. I'll get some more shots. I had it higher but found that it went too high after a drive, I never knew this but exhausts can move around a bit when hot (makes sense, just never knew) and when it was higher it would make nice cooking plastic smells. That said, I could put some heat tape on a'la 90's R33 exhausts     Ha, I've spent a lot of my life in castle hill waiting for cars to be done. I think I'd prefer something closer but thanks D.
    • @Duncan Yes, changed filter every time. I don't have the service manual for the car yet (Car was imported and they removed everything when importing). I've been using the oil change threads in the forum as reference.   @Milkmun The second oil change was after ~4 months after the first months and I wasn't sure about reusing engine oil that was opened. The third oil change happened within 3 weeks of the second oil change and I used the previous leftover oil to just "clean up" the system. (Poured it through while the sump plug was open")
