wouldnt it be really obvious if it was rear wiper. i mean, if you press it, your rear wiper will start, and then we wouldnt be having this discussion :D

so i'm guessing you guys have the rear wiper control on the left stalk with the regular wiper? like r33?

Attached is a picture with a button that I do not understand. What does it do?

thanks

That is a mirror heater switch ( it heats up the 2 exterior mirrors) and its located on the right side of the steering wheel. This is not a guess its fact , the reason i say this is because you are going to switch it on and probably nothing will happen. I hear you say why? Because the compliance shop have changed the the glass in the mirrors ( because they dont comply, no "E" mark on them ) , the heaters are on the actual glass!!!

If you take one of the mirrors off you will see the lug there going nowhere.

There are also heating panels on the front and rear windscreen where the windscreen wipers sit.

It's designed so that you can get in your car in a snowy environment and flick the switch and your wipers wont stick to the window.

Chances are you have a red and white light in your rear bar like mine?

You have a mountain car like me!!!

Bass Junky is correct, it is actually for the Front windscreen demisters. Not all R34s come with it as it was an option.

If your car has the original windscreen, you will see the demistera near the wiper blades

ahh sweet i think we're on to something now. bass junky, indeed, my car has one white reverse light and one rear fog light, and a person who could decypher japanese tells me my rego sticker (still have the original jap one lol) is from hokkaido (the northern island of japan).

hmm mystery solved? will have a look at the windscreen in the morning - don't know if it's the original one....

    • They usually get made by hand as part of any such swap.
    • Was planning on getting an R35 MAF and the adapter, should this be okay? Also any idea where I could get my hands on an intake pipe?
    • I mean yes, if you're starting from scratch on an unknown engine yes you don't need to be doing all kinds of math in the background but if you're doing relatively minor changes like AFM + injectors + boost up with some aftermarket turbos it takes quite a bit of math if you want to do something like maintain OEM fuel + timing tables but compressed and then a bit more load scale up top. I think I've spent too much time working on big engineering nightmares though so I'm a big fan of trying to constrain the scope of whatever work I'm doing as much as possible and trying to get it right before moving on. For example, a local owner just did the usual E85 + single turbo conversion to his R32 GTR and nearly burned his car to the ground doing some spirited driving up the local mountains. Turbine is unshielded and too close to the hood insulation. It's tough to balance "just get the project done" and "seemingly small details can cause massive setbacks I'm not willing to deal with".
    • No idea about Neil's steering wheel, but I have the same behaviour in the Stagea. I doubt it has ever been messed with so might be normal. Indicating to turn right at a roundabout and correcting even a little bit to the left to go around will cancel the indicator. Never considered it an issue other than it being a bit odd.
    • Does anyone know if this is off centered? Looks like it, when I indicate to go right, but turn my steering wheel slightly left it cancels (was always like that even before I started messing around with it) was wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
