hey guys. just a quick question. how do so many people get away with having a pod + intercooler? i dont want to put the stock air box back in but its looking like i have too now i have a big front mount. Also, the intercooler pieping run's pretty dam close to where the stock box sits. so is there any other way i can keep both? by making a cover for the pod etc or any ideas?

thanks.

is this for defect needs or personal hahaha..

defect. (depending where you are) there are rules about pods/intercoolers

personally. FMIC and pod + heat shield & CAI is the best way to go IMO.

there should be room for both if thats what you mean as well even without sepearting them?

I asked a while ago, If putting fmic on and keeping stock airbox , you need to cut out some parts of the snorkel so that it can fit again!

I couldnt be bothered cutting it, so Im retainig ym unifilter pod and airbox set up.

Its not exactly bad having the stock airbox...as long as u can get it to fit i don't see why you would need a pod...a hi flow panel would work fine...if u must have a pod...hide it inside the stock airbox...skylines are lucky to have large airboxes which can accomodate some pods...its probably beneficial to have the box there to shield the pod from hot air anyway...you can choose to cut out the base of the airbox too to allow more air flow in as well...i've done it...works well...

I've got permits for the fmic and pod filter (I'm in WA) but am looking to shield the pod somehow. Was going to put it inside a standard airbox but upon closer inspection I think it will foul with the fmic piping, so I'm going to get some cardboard and sheetmetal and knock up a simple barrier, probably open at the top.
