Is your key worn? are the cuts all rounded? Its probably your key being worn out so much it doesn't work very well anymore. Check the key in your other locks aswell. It'll probably work but still be a bit clicky to turn.

All in all, take it to a locksmith and show him and he'll tell ya what needs to be done straight off the bat.

See if you can get your key number for the car aswell. Consists of a letter and four numbers. R33's will have an X for the letter. eg X1234.

If you have an original (genuine) key, it should have this number stamped on it.

if you remove the drivers side door panel there should be the key number in there, or so i was told by a locksmith, but i haven't got around to looking.

Yeah the key number is stamped on the drivers side door lock. I'd use that as a last resort if i can't find it anywhere else....

Had a mobile locksmith round today, $110 cut the keys of the old worn one where the ID number had been scratched off apparently its a bit of a security threat thats why most people scratch the ID number off the actual key. Works fine now its all lubed up

Thanks for the comments guys
