a lot of people get FMIC just for the sake of it, you could easily without hindering performance run about 220kw with stock IC and thne have no lag issues

Do you plan to change the turbo?

Because if you dont, then there is absolutely no need for an I/C upgrade... personally i would suggest (if you are doing a turbo) to do the I/C & turbo upgrade together.

And then keep using the stock I/C for now

i have a hybrid fmic, turbo back exhaust (ebay dump pipe, 3.5" cat back), pod, stock turbo with turbotech boost controller and i hit 14psi in 4th at 2700rpm.

I recently changed from a Trust frontmount to an ARC item on my GTR. this change transformed my car...It makes more power at less boost and decreased lag by 300rpm....very noticable. I will never buy another brand intercooler...obviously price reflects quality however. Have a close look at there design....especialy the inlet side to the core's.

my ARC sidemount maxed out at 210rwkw then i got detonation with anymore boost.. no way you could safely run that with a stock cooler.
