This is probably not that new, but anyhow, I post anyhow. The 4 door was released a couple of weeks ago in Japan.. the 2 door is due 1st quarter of next year

http://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V36/0611/index.html

You can wade around the site, and look at the pretty pictures.. or maybe even read some of it if you know your Japanese. It's got an interesting side-profile, and personally I think it looks better than the droopy V35 4door model.

Hopefully this'll bring the price of the V35's down in price to silly levels in 6 months ;)

.. and seeing as I can press print-screen as good as the next guy..

Anyhow, from mucking about on the site .. you can probably see it's got

* Push button start

* Black leather, bone leather, or a reddy-brown leather as options

* Plastic/wood grain look inserts as an option

* Option of different front bar or mud-guard things

* Available in 5 speed manual or Auto Tiptronic

* Reverse sensing camera(s)

* Sat Nav

* Has Bose Premium sound system

* Available in 4WD or 2WD (2WD only for upper spec models)

* Economy of 10L/100km

* VQ35HR on upper specc'ed models, and also VQ25HR available

* VQ35HR - 232kw with 358Nm of torque @ 4800rpm

* VQ25HR - 165kw with 263Nm of torque @ 4800rpm

* Gas tank under rear seat

* 4WD comes with VQ25HR only.

* Most spec'ed models weigh about 1600kg unladen

If you want to read about what the HR brings over the current VQ35de engines, jump over to here:

http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/VQ35HR

"HR" possibly stands for "High Response and High Revolution" .. and they've upped the rev limit to 7500rpm :(

would have liked to see the vq35hr in an awd spec

and it seems that they are targeting business types - due to the fact that the only 2wd version is the highest spec model (why would somebody want awd on a heavy, full spec model? smart thinking nissan!)

Looks insane.

Remember guys these are standard cars. Standard previous model skylines (bar the GTR) didnt look crash hot in standard form either.

That is one nice peice of machinery. The reason why they wont bring that in over a Maxima is that the maxima costs considerably less. Tell me who in australia is going to buy a 100k Nissan thats not an out and out sports car. No one.

Most of the guys who buy Maximas are company managers, executives. Some of these top managers only have like a 60-70k Car budget and a optioned out Maxima is one of the most luxurious things on the market these days (my old state manager had one) without stepping into a 120k+ european car.

I'm with dangerous dave.... I also see some Merc CLS and BMW M5 styling in the sedan. I like it. I'd buy one as the V35 sedan just never appealed to me with it's bulbous styling, the V35 coupe grew on me though.

They can't make boxy looking cars forever.. styles change. Although I do like the older Skylines of course. The V36 at least goes back to a meaner look I think with how they've gone, which is a good thing.

At 232kw and that amount of torque, I'd say they'd go quite well, even if they are a meant to be a 'taxi' in the 4 door version.

Nissan would probably have to sell them for $60k-$80k if they sold here, which unfortunately probably wouldn't be too viable.

    • The hot exhaust light will come on not from just the cat being blocked, but it's just a temp sensor, and it's designed to warn you to not do things like park in long grass.   If you've been pushing the motor a bit, it can cause the light to come on.   Second if the cat is rattling, I'd suspect it's not blocked, but instead falling apart inside.   The easiest "fix" until you can get a cat put back in, is to unbolt your one, bash the rest of the insides out, and then bolt it back in.   For a daily driver/street car, I am in agreeance of put a cat in the car. If it were race car I wouldn't care if it were removed.
    • No worries at all 🫡 I think the most satisfying things to make are the little bits that are just impossible to find or they're no longer manufactured. Generally I always try to replace parts with OEM wherever possible. This little project is also great because it'll never see the light of day, but strengthen these brackets so it's not just relying on the little standard screws in the headlight plastic. As soon as I saw the standard brackets and screws I thought, "well I'm not going to install with just the screws, the plastic tabs will just snap off". It's crazy how expensive everything has become yeah. But I suppose that's supply and demand; granted it's a lot easier to get brand new genuine parts these days which is fantastic 😊, I don't have to get totally reamed at the local Nissan dealer ha ha We sure are lucky we have all these manufacturers making parts these days, a few really great Australian companies too like Platinum Racing Products and Fit Mint Automotive, what a time to be alive ❤️ . I've got my eye on the RB26 head by PRP as mine has a very fine hairline crack, so that'll need to be addressed some time in the future. If you have any requests or odd things to make feel free to let me know and I can have a crack at making replacement parts ✌️
    • Thanks for sharing this, and BTW if your headlights are in good condition they are worth thousands....you might want to consider replacing them with brand new LED ones like this (https://www.nengun.com/78works/full-led-headlights-r32-skyline) and making enough profit to buy a house in Sydney
