hey guys, i have my sony vaio laptop for sale. looking for a quick sale - PICKUP ONLY.

it is still in like new condition. it has windows xp profssional service pack 2, all the special vaio media and maintenance software, office XP, dvd and cd burning software loaded and ready to go.

when shopping for a laptop i wanted a vaio because i wanted a quality laptop. You get what you pay for! :O This laptop shows its price.. it is very thin, light and extremely tough. im sure that if treated correctly, it will still give years of service to its new owner.

basic overview -

intel centrino 1.7ghz

512mb ram

dvd burner and cd burner combo drive

15.4' matrix widescreen

75GB hard drive

NVIDIA GeForce 6200 graphics card - 128MB video ram

Sony memory stick reader

wireless built in

3 usb ports

video out

modem and lan ports

inbuilt stereo speakers

battery still as new, lasts roughly 1.5 hours - same as new. i have almost always run it off ac power

laptop also comes with a carry case with lots of pockets. it is great for protecting the laptop while travelling. its a very high quality bag - not just a cheap one. it cost me $165.

the price i am asking is $1100 non negotiable.

the original price of the laptop package cost me $3499 only 10 months ago.

if interested please call me on 0422-468-645.

Would this be well suited to a Dj for sequencing as in power... i am trying to study up on what power and sound card i would need! and considering a MAC but this may do

Back soon !

hey guys,

there is no warranty as it is not transferrable. But i am more than happy to write you a reciept if you want to claim it on tax or something.

I am sure you would be able to use it for dj'n. Sony always use all the best parts and hardware which is why i bought it in the first place, it is great to use for everything.

Its a very powerful laptop and when i bought it, it was just as expensive as a top of the range mac!! I've just always preferred windows.

The model number is Sony Vaio VGN-FS18GP.

If you have anymore questions, please don't hestitate to ask :dry:

come to think of it, ive done some recording of guitar stuff on this laptop - i have used FLstudio and Cool Edit, they both work perfectly.

I just plug my recording stuff straight into the mic port and all works as expected.

this laptop was actually made for recording and DJ'n- but i deleted the programs off it to install my own :dry:

the recording programs previously installed were -

Sonic RecordNow! 7;

Sony SonicStage 2.1;

Sony SonicStage Mastering Studio 1.4;

Sony SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter 1.4.

im sure you will have your own custom DJ'n software which will work much better than these standard programs anyway!!

the sound hardware installed is

Intel and Realtek High Definition Audio compatible; 3D audio (Direct Sound 3D support)

If it was bought in Australia, the balance of the warranty is transferrable (its the law), but they will need the original receipt from when you bought it as proof of when it left the retailer.

I'm not sure how Sony does things, but I know other computer manufacturers will use the build date to determine the warranty period if you "lose" your receipt. As long as 350z has not logged an issue with Sony or emailed in the warranty card they'll have no record of who bought the machine, and you can try this path instead.

welcome to the thread, as of 19 december the laptop is now 11 months old. SO has less than one month warranty left. I have called sony and they pretty much could not be bothered helping out with such a short warranty time frame, and also me not having the receipt doesnt make it any easier (it was accidently dumped along with the box and manuals when I moved!)

The laptop is like new anyway so im sure there will be no worries with it. You can even come and check it out before you pay and if your not happy with it, dont feel pressured to buy because if it doesnt sell im happy to just keep it :P I have nothing to hide with the laptop.
