Fuel filter should be changed approx. every 5000 to 10000kms. Oil filter should be changed approx. every 5000Kms. Timing belt is a major service which is usually changed every 100,000Kms with the idlers and tensioners i believe. Good luck Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/147351-after-how-many-kms-should-u-change-ur-fuel-filter/#findComment-2750377 Share on other sites
mad082
i don't think you need to change your fuel filter that often. it depends on how often you run on a low tank. if you don't let the car get below about 1/3 tank then you can leave it longer than someone who constantly runs it below 1/4 tank. I thought the fuel pump sucks fuel from the bottom of the tank anyway.?. mad082
it does, but when there is more fuel in there the crap is less consentrated. also, i'm pretty sure that the return line comes out and sort of washes the crap off the filter sock on the pump. Busky2k
5-10,000km is overkill. They are easily good for 30,000-40,000ks. hayden49
Bleh its a $10 part from ryco. I replace it everytime i do my oil which is usually every 3000km's. Cheap insurance and even if there is no scientific benefit there is peace of mind for me. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/147351-after-how-many-kms-should-u-change-ur-fuel-filter/#findComment-2750705 Share on other sites
gtrchick
yeah every 10000 kays is WAY too much. Regular cars, usually get theirs changed at about 80000 kms, but i personally prefer 40000kms. And thats for both of them, the intank and the secondary filter in your engine bay. Cubes
I find I do mine every 20,000km's or so. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/147351-after-how-many-kms-should-u-change-ur-fuel-filter/#findComment-2750959 Share on other sites
hayden49
I agree with GTR chick, every 4000km's is a nice ammount. I just dont understand how people put off chaning their oil every 5-10,000km's. Its a $45 bottle of oil for gods sake, its cheap insurance, i keep my baby bathing in new motul every 3000kms. probably less if i involve spirited driving. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/147351-after-how-many-kms-should-u-change-ur-fuel-filter/#findComment-2750984 Share on other sites
Cubes
Mine swallows $60 worth of Motul every 5000km's + a $16 PureOne oil filter. Every fuel filter I do the airfilter also (Purulator airfilter) Still running the stock airbox but with a nice big arsed 100mm cai. Munkyb0y
I agree with GTR chick, every 4000km's is a nice ammount. gtrchick said 40,000kms, which sounds about right to me. Busky2k
Well Nissan in their workshop manual specifies every 40,000km or 24 months. Changing it every under 10,000km every time would be a waste really. mad082
if i did mine every 3000k's that would be after only putting through 500L. seems kind of a waste. if you used a handfull of gravel as octane boost then i could understand changing it as often as your oil. to see how little fuel that is, a common fridge is about about 450L. so if you had a tank the size of your fridge you would be changing it after only putting through that small amount of fuel.
