Good day to all I'm having a problem with a rim and tire setup I put on and was wondering if anyone knows of a fix. First I have a 95 r33 gts-t and i put on some sick 18 inch rims the are 7.5 wide with a 20mm offset sittin on 235 40 18 tires. The ride is crazy hype The prob i am having is whenever i hit a dip in the road or cut the wheel to the max i get rubbing if its only me in the ride and i go over a speed bump no rub but with an extra person i get a rub and if only me and i hit a dip in the road it rubs. It always rubs when i cut the wheel to the max so i wanted to kno if neone knows a solution for this that wont cause me alot of money.

you have 2 things you are probalby rubbing on

first is the guard/fender

second is maybe the plastic splash guard that sits under the front fender

you really need to get your guards "rolled"

this means they heat up the metal and roll it out further so itdoes not scrape

take your car down to your closest panel beater and ask them if they do guard rolling. they will come and have a look at your wheels and tell you if they can help you or not

best of luck,

Warren

u have two options..

1. sell the wheels and get something with a bigger offset eg +40 - +30

2. roll your guards as per above, cost is usually around $80/corner

+20 offset has brought your wheel out towards the guards a fair bit as it is this is more suited to GTRs.

A higher offset would bring the wheel back in and sit inside the guards therefore no need for guard rolling.

You could go for a narrower tyre. With a 7.5" wide rim, going narrower wouldn't be a problem. I have 19x8.5 +25 offset on the front of my R33 and had rub on turning and bumps, that was with a 235/35. I changed to a slightly narrower 225/35 (slightly smaller diameter too I suppose, which would put the speedo out slightly)and have had no issues since. The rear are 9.5" wide and with rolled guard lips there is no rub.

Just thought I'd throw this option in the mix.
