i can't see how it would be unmetered mate. think about what you are saying. the air goes into the airbox, then through the air flow meter how is that unmetered?

He's had MAP in his R33 for some time now so that's his excuse I'd suggest

I tested the Airbox on / off twice on two different dynos with my HKS 2535 and lost up to 30rwkw both times... I even tested it with no filter.

I guess it depends on the turbo and setup you have.

when i had ~200kw i tested with the top of the airbox off.. i got 5kw differance with it off.

dave what did you end up using in the end ?? im thinking of changing to a pod filter so my turbo sounds cool like als

I used a stainless Blitz Pod, sounded great and had heaps more topend..

I cant really remember how different it was to Al's.... I did sound great though, i have tried to fit it to other cars but it is setup for a Skyline AFM...

My pod is up for sale VERY soon! Still adapts to the afm as i have a "dummy" on in place

No garantees that this is what make my car sound nuts though

but the gtrs is only slightly bigger than my turbo and it sounds way louder / cooler.. we both use the rubber intake pipe, only main diff is i use the stock airbox and stock bov.

you wouldn't think so but it does. some of the k&n filters make no sucking noise, but you can still hear the bov. my mate had a k&n filter that is bigger at the top than where it goes onto the afm and it made no induction noise. then he changed to a different filter and it did.

i had the same filter on my old 180sx and it didn't make any induction noise either.
