that sucks man... a pic of the car would be good. Have you asked your neighbours to see if they saw anything.

Also, alot of people will want to know did you have an alarm/immobiliser? and insurance? hope you did buddy :D

yeah i have insurance. i insured it for 18k. it had an immobiliser i believe. atm it will have some dodgy old rims on the back of it because we were doing burnouts on private property a few nights before that. they are just 16's or something off an old supra (6 spoke).

That sux big time, It makes one feel pissed off! that is for sure. Thank god you had insurance.

Guys I can't stress enough how important it is to have the follow two:

1. Insurance

2. An Alarm/Immobiliser that is install correctly

If one can't afford an alarm just get an immobiliser they do the job for under $200.

its strange. my gtir wasnt insured at all for the entire 8 mths i had it, nothing ever happened. i get a skyline for 2 weeks and it gets stolen? wtf? are these theives starting a skyline car yard or something?

Alright, I'm starting to get a little worried myself, I mean, I've only had the Skyline for just under a week now. I'm still yet to get that mod you were talking about Marc (the power-on lock) at the last dinner and to fit the immobiliser in.

What is with this crap? Is no skyline safe anymore? I've heard those reports of those wankers stealing them and doing BnEs and Armed Robberies with them, but for christs sake, this has me living in constant fear of leaving my car anywhere.

Hell, I'm even wondering how long it's going to be before some tosser breaks into my house and nicks my car.

No doubt the perps read this forum, what do you guys think?

Mate a picture would help a hell of alot.

I am glad now i had my alarm installed last week, mines been sitting in my backyard for 6 months without one or insurance, but there both taken care of now so i can drive it

hey micheal, that sucks man.

hope u get her back or at least get another nice skyline

yeah i know. i only got to go through on pair of those tyres i got off you. that was damn fun, video'd too for everyone.

thinking of moving away from nissan actually :( (no one hurt me please!)

* :(

LOL

Edit - come on John, no naming businesses

but INSURANCE will certainly take some pain away.......

hopefully, i get the feeling though that its going to be painful :( they've already been difficult enough. they'll probably investigate it and try and say that i did it on purpose :) not looking forward to it.

    • As GTS mentioned, it takes a bit of faffing, some fiddling and a little modifying.  With the strainers, you can buy different styles. Some sit flat on the pump, some angle down.  Here are some photos of mine, ignore the ugly welds lol.
    • The smart thing is to actually locate the pump at the right point down the hanger, so that the strainer can stay sticking out at a right angle, but near the bottom. This is the perpetual hassle with retrofitting any different pump to the factory hanger. Some just go where you need it to, some need fiddling and faffing, and modifying of stuff.
    • Some updates. After a lot of praying and some inspecting of crank threads, we've found that they were both kinda munted but nothing seemed terminal. The other option was drilling and helicoiling the crank. That is obviously the last option so we decided to at least try to get a OEM GM bolt in to GM Specs. So after honing/linishing the balancer from it's .002" interference fit to a .0018" to .0015" to .0013" it eventually slotted on to the crank. ATI state the interference is nominally 0.0007-0.0009... so it's still snugger than ATI reckon and explains the issues we had to fit the thing to begin with. New GM bolt went in at 37 ft/lb then torqued 140 degrees after which was EXTREMELY   but it tightened up to 140 degrees and it was a lot of force. So all things considered, the balancer is secured to the exact specs that GM want with the OEM Stretch bolt, (that ATI say you can use..) and the balancer itself is seated and snug AF. So WOO. Engine is now back in the car with lots of swearing. Bellhousing bolts done up, driver side manifold is on, AC Compressor and hard lines are back on the car. Next step will be to connect various engine bits/wiring/intake/radiator etc. Then oil and coolant and ... test start it? And of course, looking into this issue... which actually doesn't look so bad - It looks like it can be twisted back into shape with a set of multigrips. Anyone wanna buy my bonnet? Boy it looks good over there and sunk cost sucks.
    • Also this may be a stupid question, but how would you recommend getting the strainer on a downwards angle ? as they tend to obviously clip to the bottom of the pump which usually sits level 🥴
