Thought i'd start a new thread on this one -

I have a chance to get a set of Veilside rims but they are massive;

5 x 114.3

18 x 10

+24 offset.

Does anyone have an idea if i've got any chance of fitting them under an R33 GTS-T? I am willing to roll the guards, they are too good to let go.

Here it is below

The offset could be wrong for your car. I believe that was for an R32 GT-R, coz the offset seems right to me. GT-Rs have flared guards, allowing for smaller offset.

It would sticks out in your car, and possibly, you'd have problem with them touching your guards. And you can't have it lowered too much, too.

Rolling diameter can't be 15mm larger than the largest standard wheel size and combo fitted to that car. Width of the wheels can't be more than 25mm (1") than the widest standard rim for that car (gts-t's are 7" standard). Shit, I'm sounding like a cop here, but i'm just spitting out what is on there. How they're going to know with an import is anybody's guess. Don't think its enforced much, except if they're getting really picky.

Check all the ADR rules on the Vicroads site.

I'm now 99% sure they don't fit. But the tyre placard in my door says i can fit up to 18x9.5 - i assume they used the same placard for R33 GTS, GTS-T and GTRs for simplicity.

some lucky ppl got GTR placcards with their GTSTs from the compliance shops cause they didnt have them for GTSTs and no one knows anyway... sucks for me cause i got the GTST plate :D

my current oz racing rims r 9 inch on the back, and the car was complied with that. Cops aint gonna measure rim width unless they r real real real assholes!

and yes gordo u do sound like a cop, u applying for a new job and not telling the rest of us??

yes, i am a cop and i am here to bust your black ass :P looks like somebody has beaten you to it though..hehe

pft.. anybody can become a cop though.. my mate is now "one of them" and well :bahaha: he's nothing special. Just do the test, do all the training things, and bang, you're on the streets as Junior Constable... with your 9 weeks off a year or whatever ridiculous, 3 weeks sick leave and whatever else. Its a pretty cushy job if you don't have to deal with any of the bad stuff like drugos and things. Only problem is advancement - it takes forever to get anywhere than just being a lowest of the low in the cop world..

Horus got done recently for wheels as you can see from his thread, but they were getting everything they possibly could on him. From that its obvious they *do* know about it and if they want to they can bust you for it.

Personally I don't think having massive rims is that good an idea, because you end up scraping your guards and things and it does effect driveability to a negative extent if too large (the basic reason for the ADR restrictions).. Too large/wide looks a bit stupid to me, but its all personal taste.
