Guys,

Just wondering about an upgrade on an R33 gtst from stock to front mount intercooler. Obviously the temp/density of the incoming air has changed as compared to stock. Should the ECU therefore be reprogrammed to take this into account? Is not reprogramming/replacing the ECU detrimental to the engine, or will it just mean that you dont get the most performance out of the intercooler upgrade

Thanks

Michael

Basically r33 gtst's cant be reprogrammed, there are some around, but mostly done in japan. Do you have a standrd turbo, if so dont expect to get ant real gain from the front mount, better off getting a good split dump pipe and 3in exhaust.

the stock ecu can't be reprogrammed. it can be chipped and then tuned, but very few people do this for the r33. you shouldn't need to do this anyway as the ecu should still be within its limits and not have any problems.
