Hi guys.

As some of you might know. I removed an AVC-R and replaced it with a Blitz unit.

The AVC-R was in my dash and apart from doing it's work to control boost I also used it to read boost levels (peak too).

I've mounted the Blitz unti out of sight in the glove box, now I have no boost gauge.

I'd like to put one in the round drivers side air vent (R32 GT-R) but my question is:

Can I install one?

Sorry if it's a silly question, but I just thought that a separate boost gauge might not work since I've already got the Blitz unit installed. Newbie I am, that's why I'm asking you lot!

Thanks in advance for any light. :)

do you honestly need it? why not just trust the controller and get on with driving? if the controller cant be trusted then dont use it.

i see no need to watch boost all the time. mines set at 0.85bar and chances are if im on full load for a few seconds, it will be 0.85bar.

but yes to answer the question, you can run both, but i see no need?

paulr33: True I don't really "need" it. It's more a "want" than a need. There's lots of things in my car that I perhaps don't really "need" but I like them (stereo, strut braces, carpet, body kit etc etc.).

But thanks for the reply! Much appreciated.

justin, yep, installing one there is no problem even with the blitz SBC-ID installed.

question: do you still have your standard MAP sensor? If so, you can remove it and place the new map sensor in it's place. easy peasy. I know from experience the Greddy 60mm gauges with peak hold and warning fit nicely in the vent hole. personally i wanted the vent back to now have just 3 gauges mounted on the little step in the dash with the defi controller mounted where the old 3 gauge set-up went. from memory you have the defi-din in there so maybe just buy an electronic wanring meter that doesn't need a controller if you are just planning to add one gauge. I can reccomend the trust ones. very nice quality guages.

I'm running with a Hks evc and an apexi boost gauge plus my std dash boost gauge works as well. They came with the car, I just made the s/s cup and evc mount on the steering column........have I got boost covered..........yep!
