I've picked my self up a VG30DET BB turbo with plans to get it highflowed by gcg later on down the track. Anything over 250rwkw I'd be happy with. :(

For now I will be bolting it on with an adj. FPR (maybe injectors depends on $$) to see what she gets.

I'm expecting around 210rwkw peak some where around 5500rpm. ;)

Unfortunately I can't spend money on the highflow at the moment as I need to get the suspension and diff sorted.

The subframe bushes are nackered as is the diff, it now some times breaks out in to a single spinner when jumping on the gas in second, if it doesn't do that it breaks out in to a nasty axle tramp due to the stuffed subframe bushes. :(

Hey Cubes, below is a link to BT Revolution, they sell bushes made be Zenith Tuning. Zenith is my Brother in laws new business, making up bushes, strut braces, boot braces and guard bracing, all of which is made local, sold locally at Exhaust Technology, D1 Garage and Viva, or i guess PM me.

Get them to make a strut brace that steps behind the motor similar to a VL Commodore one.

I can then bolt it on the RB30DET. :P

Where's the link?

Sorry fella here tis,

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=zenith

You would have to ask him about making a special one for your RB30!!

do you know how much one is looking at to get a stock Skyline turbo high-flowed Joel?

My Neo turbo also has the plastic impeller - I wonder what the cost would be to change it to a steel one?

I believe steel wheels are part of the GCG highflow process.

You only want to take your turbo off once right Andrew...

thanks max for not telling me you were not coming

thanks for not having your mobile on

thanks for wasting my time (its at least 20 mins for me to get there)

its cool not to be able to make it, all you have to do is tell me, so i dont waste my time

*end rant

With the car, Im going to hire the equipment - air compressor and jetfire heater. Good thing bout the place im getting it from is that sunday is free which hopefully is sufficient time to prime, sand and paint. Only thing i cant get atm is a decent spray gun which hopefully can be sourced by friday.

    • I thought about ditching it but I was worried my bonnet would sound like a 90's Swift GTi sub-filled boot.
    • Have you found that you have to tighten your alternator belt once in a while? Mine has started to squeal again after the mechanic tightened it roughly a year ago and the engine starts up slow if I don't start it every day (think the starter motor is going out). It used to be if I don't drive it once a week I'd get a quick squeal on the belt but now it's every day or every other day. I might make a post of the start up sound.
    • I spent the entire of the long weekend going through my garage and I'm now, after 3.5yrs in this house, able to fit a car in. The garage is quite long and the back half has a high enough ceiling for a 2 post lift but it's going to just take too much space and I don't think I'd be able to get around the car if it was in the air. So, in comes the quick lift. It looks perfect. High enough to do most things, I reckon even getting a gearbox out would be doable.  Does anybody here have one? They're fairly cheap (~$3k) considering...  https://www.dtmtrading.com.au/product/quick-lift-portable-vehicle-hoist-3500-kg-worksafe-approved/ I'm also a bit of a non risk taker so I'd probably still use stands when under!
    • Well now we all see it! I did the same. Then cut it out. Then melted half of it. Then discarded it entirely. So... you're in good company.
    • I just replaced the god awful, sagging, crunchy bonnet insulation. It's something nobody but I see but it's been at me for a while.
