Morn Jess,

i just got R33 GTSt calipers and rotors but there is a

UK dude that does 330mm upgrade packs with the R33 GTSt caliper so when i need new rotors might look into a 350z track rotor from memory they have 320mm rotors with the brembo brakes so all i would need is a bracket to remount the caliper which isnt too hard

still would one day alot further down the track like to get new rims 5stud and do the whole conversion

The only problem I can see with using brackets is if you have an accident and its discovered you could be in BIG trouble.

Insurance etc doesn't look kindly to illegal backyard style brake mods. :P

Madaz, unless your running wide super sticky tyres there's no need for 300mm+ big brakes. A decent set of slotted rotors and a good track suitable pad is perfectly fine with the std r33 gtst callipers.

good Call.. will leave it as Standard 33 then, or best case find a wrecked 350z and get the brembo calipers off it with rotors

Once you figure that one out Pauly, let me know ok?

he can let us all know

I'm glad i didn't have my car on the street last night. I usually am the lst one home and have to park out the front. For some reason my dad left his car out the front. We got up this morning and someone has thrown a brick into the tailgate leaving a big mess!!

couldn't believe my luck (and my dads bad luck )

I've always considered "rice" to be a car that's modded only for looks, and usually not particularly tastefully or over the top, like big "pram handles" on Excels, altezza lights etc.

IMO there'e nothing "rice" about a 240Z.

I totally agree there is nothing rice about any of the cars that dad owned previously, however I was pointing out that in the 70's they were referred to as "rice burners" just because of the japanese heritage.

You could hardly call 120+mph (195kph+) in the 70's "rice" by todays definition, BUT thus the adaption of the term as I was refferring to :(

Yup, that's where the term came from a LONG time ago.

Then in the 90's when everyone started putting bodykits on excels & mirages the term rice was applied to them as they were all show and no go. Thus deluxe's and others view on rice.

Then with the rise of Grey imports (silvia's, skylines etc) in the late 90's, the term rice still stuck although these cars would beat 90% of the local products of the time.

Now days, rice is very mixed, bit like special fried rice! :(
