I went from 10 lessons in a manual corolla to a r32 manual gtst. There was also a month gap since i last drove the corolla. I found the r32 much harder to stall than the corolla. Hell, the engine lights would come on and I just had to press in the clutch for it to start up again :)

Took about a week to get used to it, and probably another one to not depend on the handbrake on steep hills :pirate:

Get the manual!

Cheers

haha we all go through that stage. Remembering now, i didnt drive with radio on for the first week as it was too distracting. Had a clutch and gears to worry about without the yacking of a radio :P

Might also get a couple of smells of clutch burning too haha

All in the learning :)

Manuals become second nature within a couple of weeks. it is the only way to go.

that post is so hard to read!?!

sorry mate i probably text to much on my phone bad habit of writing like it i think so couple wks or so should all be good im sure ill be able to get over the embarrassment of stalling if im in a sweet looking car :P i'll probably have to get used to the smell of clutch for a bit to huh would i be in danger of seriously damaging it in those couple wks

    • Long time no see, I haven't posted since 14 years ago... To cut to the chase, R32 GTR. dead stock. Split wastegate hose = stock turbos were overboosting = front turbo's exhaust wheel has shattered. Have done a compression test following this and the results are (dry, cold) - 120 / 60 / 75 / 110 / 150 / 150. Haven't bothered with a wet test or leakdown test. The results definitely support front turbo failure (on 1-3) however the low compression on #4 is concerning too. Can anyone share their experience of when their turbine wheel shattered and damaged their motor - and what work needed to be done afterwards? Pistons? Rings? Valves? Throwing in the bin or salvageable? Motor is 100% stock. Will be getting it looked at further soon - I don't have a borescope and head hasn't come off (yet).
    • Depends how low and tyre size. Should fit with natural camber, skinny tyres and rolled guards.
    • Hi guys, planning to get 18x9 +25 in fronts and 18x10 +25 in rears been reading the whole thread and cant really find anything   Anyone know if these will fit a r34 gtt with no scrubbing or guard work needed?
    • They usually get made by hand as part of any such swap.
    • Was planning on getting an R35 MAF and the adapter, should this be okay? Also any idea where I could get my hands on an intake pipe?
