Yeah thats for sure, I didn't get the names of the 4 dr 34 and 33 I was cruising with along the 'scenic' route to Mt Lofty I was in the white 32 getting no traction :)

How did you go serty1 no probs I hope?

Was a good cruise but I was 10 mins late to every meet :P got held up in Rundle St then took the long way to the summit

That was NightCrawler (Andrew) & myself (Jared) you were cruising with.

That's the biggest problem with a cruise like that, you don't really get to socialise enough to get to know everyone. We'll have to have some sought of casual social event some time.

lol me and the blue rexy saw a R33 sideways on angus street almost loosing it

any1 from the cruise

Yeah that was me, my mate in the back seat was sore after that. I didn't know there was a cruise on until I saw a heap Skyline's going down Rundle, sort of got lost after that and the road was wet, so what the hey.

BTW, I was in total control until the wheels started to spin.

Your cars tops, suprised to see kids in the back seat though.

Decent cruise fellas...

Was a little surprised to see most people leave early at the stops, so had to play catchup. Went to Burnside Village and there was no-one there besides the green/bluish Cefiro. Went up Free way and to Mt Lofty car park, found 3 skylines, and thought missed everyone. Then 2 minutes later - bang...all the skylines rock up lol (was the white 32 skyline sitting in the car park at Lofty).

Good to hear you guys had fun, and hope it all went well. Somehow ended up following some guys to macca's near Macgill, rather than at West Beach lol.

Have a good New Years and drive safe :P

Dan

yeah we dont go silly on cruises so i feel quite happy to bring my kids

my 6yr old loves comming on cruises with daddy

and my front passenger was my son from ACT to which i saw the first time in 13 years on tues we played CSS together and pwned sum ct's :P

lol @ the in control until the wheels spun, nice

was a great turnout and nice to see so many skyrines in one place!

suks about the weather, really spoilt it and changed everything :)

sorry about my little slip out on railway trc, i appologise to who ever was in the lane next to me, didnt expect that to happen (open wheeling LSDs are soo umpredictable)

i ended up going bak down greenhil road as the 32 in front didnt indicate and suddlenly turned off to the left, ah well i took it easy down there seeing as the road was f*kn dangerous and soo dark.. think i need some new front tyres tho.. f*k all grip

pics cumn up soon btw :)

that would be guy (4doorsleeper) who u should apologise to. cheers

if only there was a longer stretch of road like greenhill road up to lofty, i went up there last night for the first time in the 33. coilovers are great. bit bumpy tho. was great to hear the screamer in the hills.

im not too familiar with the hills but i think we should go on roads like that for the next cruise.

yeah the dude with the mullet said to his fat missus as they walked past :

"show us your 2 litre pieces of crap"

.... to which I responded

"yeah but no doubt putting out double the power of your V8 hunk of junk"

In regards to the next cruise, im happy to organise somethin hills oriented, but it will be at night! as its safer less traffic, it will be late around 11-12pm, and i would prefer people with experience in the hills only.

I'll be in for this

Madaz...regarding that EA ford, definetely saw his antics. Surprised the car managed to 'turn'. That was before the cop came slowly past you three parked backwards

well only reason i left early and didnt cruise the whole way was the fact i knew no one! and felt out of place cos everyone knew someone! haha

Was a nice turnout at the first meet point, good meeting some of yous. Cheers Andy for organising it & how's your clutch coz we could smell it when you were leaving West Beach?

and that mullet he didnt like the"i like your mullet very much" in the borat accent i said lol

You weren't the only one the girls in the silver R33 only joined the fourms several days before the cruise & they stayed till the end to West Beach.

    • Any number of different ways. Have the coils draw sufficient current to provide contact wetting. Use different contacts in the switch, either by material or design, better suited to the low current drawn by a relay coil. Etc.
    • Hmm, how does the R34 manage to have headlight relays then without getting excessive carbon buildup on the headlight switch contacts?
    • Not R7R. Meant to type R&R, obviously enough.
    • Bugger "making it look stock". I put one conventional internally fused Hella relay behind each globe. I just pulled the plugs off the back of the globes and built new loom segments with male and female plug parts to match up to the original loom and the globe, and used the original power wires to each globe coming from the switch through the original loom plug to trigger the relays. Ran a big fat (also separately fused) power wire across the front of the car to feed all the relays. It's as ugly as f**k, but it is wedged down between the headlight and battery on the RHS and the airbox and headlight on the LHS, and no-one ever looks in my engine bay, and on the odd occasion that they do I simply give no f**ks for what they think. Fully reversible - not that you'd ever want to. For f**k's sake. It's a Skyline. They made million of the bloody things. We've been crashing them into roadside furniture for 30 years now. There is a negative side effect to putting relays on the headlights. The coil current is too little to properly clean the contacts in the switches and they get blacked up and you have to open them up every couple of years and clean them manually. I have 25 years of experience on this point.
    • I was poking through the R34 wiring diagrams vs R33 and noticed that the R34 has proper headlight relays while the R33 is like the R32 and sends full headlight power through the headlight switch. I'm not afraid of wiring but I really would like to do this in a way that looks OEM (clipping into open positions on the OEM relay box) and also unlike the factory wiring which interlocks the high beam and low beam on the halogen series 1 GTR headlights I want to make it such that turning on the high beams keeps the low beams on as well. Any advice on how to locate the specific connectors + crimp terminals + relays I need? I was thinking one NO relay for low beams and another for combined high + low running off the factory high beam headlight connector. I don't really want to splice into a crusty old probably discontinued factory harness so fully reversible is my goal here.
