mate of mine had this happen in his stagea too.

melted the electrodes right off 2 or 3 of the plugs.

not sure why, but once he replaced them & did a few other mods to his car (which were on the list anyway - fmic/adjustable cam gears/ebc/etc) he hasnt had any issues since.

i wouldnt be overly worried about it, unless it keeps happening, then you may have to go to a hotter(colder?) plug to make sure they can handle the power the engine is producing.

also to answer whoever it was that asked if the '11' was the heat range - its not, its the gap they are set too.

if you buy -11 plugs, they need to be regapped to at least .8mm, if not .7mm.

Ah, Okay I understand now.

So, what sort of heat range should I be running with the mods I do have?

From what I can see the hook at the end

of the plug snapped off.

If my eyes are telling the truth.

Then most likely this particular plug was

screwed in too deep and as a result

the piston would of came into contact with it

a few times before breaking off.

As soon as the piston hit it, it would of closed the

gap on the spark plug causing your misfire.

As far as plugs are concerned:

Here is an example

BKR6E-11

6 - referes to heat range.

11 - referes to plugs current gap size, which in this case is 1.1mm.

That makes a lot more sense to me, sorry I'm new to the RB scene only had mine for 6mts or so.

Thanks heaps everyone, any other advice if any would be great.

So, new spark plugs should fix my problem?
