heya ppls...

Well once again I got busted by my best mate Mr Radar....11kms over the limit...71 in a 60...anyway this takes me to 14 points in 3 years....

I have 3 point about to expire TOMORROW!! so I'm kinda upset about that...

I heard you can wait, object then withdrawn a pay a bit extra but it sounds a bit dodgy as the date of the offence is still the 26/12...so therefore I will be over...

By my calculation thats 3+2 = 5 months of catching th train and the wife driving me on the weekend...hehe dunno whats worse...not driving the line or the ife driving me... :)

I could got he 12 months no fine option but its unlikely I would last 12 months based on history so I'm not going to consider that...so I have decided my options are:

a. Store the line int he garage work on it for 5 months...and by a slow car...some would argue I have one already as my other car an FTO... :)

b. Take it to court...not sure about this but seekeing some advice form a specialist in the area. However if its costs like 4k I could have just rented an apartment near work for only a little bit more. Plus my point will be 0 again - which would be a good thing!

c. See if the 3 points comming off from the 27/12/06 will effect the 3 points I just go on the 26/12/06. According to the rules they wont, but I guess its all up to how they ACTUALLY calulate it...rather than the rules...

Overall...kinda crap...funny thing was i wouldn't normally drive the way I did...I wa s following the GPS to see if its so called "fastest route" was better than my normal one...teach me to listen to the damn computer...

My advice : watch the speed limit...dunno but sometimes I just dont pay attention and hence I'm over 12 points...good lesson for the kids out there!

Any decent options I havn't considered?

btw MERRY XMAS every1

is 11km/h over the limit alleged or actual whatever it is. surely radar guns arent 100% accurate, u might be able to get em down to 10km/h, which will only be one point instead of 3

Sorry to hear mate. Saw lots of Police out with radars on the Princes Hwy today coming back from Gippsland. :)

yeah I'II live...i never get busted for much over...anyway thats life...

Sounds like a good idea, what you save on fuel, you can spend on grog! :)

Ask a relative to take the points?

hahaha thats what i'm doing :):)

my aunt has never ever driven after she got her license. she's got 12 points. she's gonna give me 3 as her christmas present to me  it was either that or taking the train for 6 months. F that!!!

Chris, as far i know the point's don't take effect till the fine is payed.... i could wrong on this though.

yeh thats wot i thought as well as u dont really lose your licence till you pay the fine so hopefully the points dont kick in till then as well good luck wif it mate

Points go from the date of offence, regardless of how long you drag it out.

It "WAS" a loophole, but is since closed

VicRoads and the Vic Police are different... dont get me started on the disarray both systems are in as there is no link between em.

Buy me a beer one arvo and i'll get into it hahaha :sorcerer:

IMO - Get someone to take the points... if not. You possibly will get the options letter i think.

So 12 months with NO points, and then back to full points.

Im on that at the moment, and lucky i havent had my car. Not a point in 11 months now.

Keep the car Chris. Dont be silly.

Worst case you have to train/walk. I've done it for 6 + 3 months, its not as bad as it seems. The first month (of 6) is a killer.

3 months you dont notice.

But then, i live in Windsor, so i train 5 days a week and cab on the weekends mainly so i wasnt really affected as if i was living 30+ mins away from the city as im only 10mins away.

And even now when i drive, ive kinda grown out of it a bit. Even drivin S15's, R33's etc. I seem to have dulled my right foot out.

Hopefully that carries over too my own car.

sorry to hear, hope you sort it out

i am on the 12 month good behaviour plan as of august

the fine occured when u got booked, doesnt matter when u pay it

yeah thats right...I was wondering if by the time they run up the point 3 will have been deducted...

so the plan is to leave it until I get my new statement...delay the payment a bit and see what happens.

But...I suspect I wont be in luck...

damn 1 day!!!

hehe I was always keeping the car...it was just going to be gararged for a bit...

we will wait for the letter and see what happens...might mean I just have to drive slow all the time...no Paul Walker style for me anymore. LOL

driving within the law? its a new concept but it seems I will have to do it ...

Just when I setup the car awsome too...spools quick now to 1.3 bar and really cains...might be the reason I go the fine...Mind u this is the first fine with the r33...out of the 6!! hehe.

Damn Chris :)

I have not been in this situation, so i can't give you any advise.

Good Luck with what ever decision you choose. I know Ash knows a good traffic solicitor, maybe have a word to him to discuss your options.

    • You'd want to cap off the re-entry back into the dump too. Just something flat that can be held on by the Vband.
    • Thanks for the recap Matt Z. It was a great day out and I know you have said it already, but we couldn’t have done it without the volunteers.
    • Couldn't agree anymore, massive thanks to all that came by, helped out, or those who just wanted to talk cars. You are the community that make this such a great car club. cant wait for what we have planned for the future
    • Looking at the photos, you could easily just drop this pipe and dump into atmosphere  Just 1 or 2 quick hits for data acquisition - if have a heat shield material and/or sheet metal, maybe just use wire/metal cable ties and attach it in a way to deflect heat from melting nearby wires.
