Hello everyone!

As much as I do love my $100 turbosmart Bleed Valve I know that in every mans life there comes a time to upgrade to an Electronic boost Controller, what advantages do these have over the bleed valve other than the spikings sometimes in the bleed valves? is it worth the extra hundreds of $$$$ is lag lessened that much?

What brand are good and do the cheap Trust Profec B do the job?

If any of youguys know of someone who is selling a electronic Boost controller in the near future for a cheap price let me know...

I was looking at the Trust Profec B something minimal as far as electronic boost controllers go but effectove i hear and only about $400....

the profec b's are fine. they do have the function GAIN or fuzzy logic or whatever trust call it which is supposed to reduce lag. basically it holds the wastegate shut until the desired boost pressure is reached rather than 'bleeding' off the air. it depends from turbo to turbo how much an EBC reduces lag, but dont expect miracles

the biggest advantage is now youve got an electronically controlled solenoid which you can adjust from inside the cabin depending on driving conditions or how hard you want to drive. so you dont have to hammer the car all the time. this is the biggest advantage i found from the 'upgrade'.

Then will you be sellling it? Also whats the hybrid one from Hikari like?

I do like the Profec B nice and cheap and has 2 levels of boost setting to choose from... this will be nice in the wet weather of winter!

How can he be a guinea pig if no one is using it and everyone is recommending blitz....

it is $320 from Hikari

Someone in WA is using one with nothing but praise. I cant remember who though... is a little cheaper than the blitz, but I have also only heard good things about all blitz stuff

search search search dood, i swear there is a good thread about these EBC's

Check this tread out, some comparisions of boost controller, thoe not on a skyline, still some good info and comparsions on holding boost, i assume it will do the same on a skyline.

Hope it helps somewhat. Cheerz ROb

i recommend the HKS EBC.

I use to have problems with it when it first came from japan with it spiking and whatnot, but i pulled the pipes off and gave it a quick clean and now its working. And does so quite nicely too. :-)

if u get the hybrid i will kill u

never heard of it and no one seems to use it

u wanna be the giunea pig

plently of people use these units...?!?! works auto sell them, simon uses one in his R32.

nothing wrong with single solenoid, the majority of budget-priced EBC's use a single solenoid.

I use Hybrid on my car, Works uses it on his car, don't diss what you haven't tried

As a comparison to my old turbosmart bleed valve, this unit is AWESOME ... after paying approx 340 for it, I came to the conclusion that it would be useless paying anymore for an ebc, since this unit jumps to boost, and holds it there tight

And was piss to install too :D

It is only restricted to 20psi if you use the 2BAR MAP sensor, however you can upgrade them and run higher boost ... but noone here is running more than 20 anyway :P
