Hey all

A while back my car (R32 GTST the usual minor mods running stock ECU ) wouldnt start as the fuel pump wasnt presurising the system at start up i traced this back to a damp computer and after drying the connectors the problem was fixed ...

Unfortunatly the seal that i had patched up leaked again and this time i have a feeling my computer has fryed ... it seems 2 be stuck in "CPU backup Mode a constant 1 second flashing when car is set on the On postion" ive attempted to reset the memory by short cuircuiting the connectors in the fuse box but no go... flashing stays constant and doesnt put itself into diagnostic mode ... So i guess the question is it time to replace the computer ? is it dead ? any one know any tricks 2 confirm that its fryed b4 i go out buy a new one and work out its just a fuse or so ?

Your input would be greatly appreciated thanks

rip it out, take the 4 small screws holding it together out an take a big sniff and look for any damage. if it smells burnt its f**ked. if it looks like somethings exploded under one of the capacitors, its f**ked

Yea i have thats the thing it doesnt seem like there is any damage to the cuircuit board not even a burnt smell to it thats whats got me confused maybe the damage is further up the line form the ECU, maybe the harness ive noticed some large fuse lookin thing but they seem 2 also be fine... the damage is most prb 2 small 2 c any one know any places i can pick up an ECU for cheap maybe even a cheap after market one ?
