Hey all.

I have a R32 GTR. My car currently has a Cross flow triple pass radiator in that was made especially for it and it has started leaking in a number of places, as rads do. I have got a few quote on getting a new core made for it and near had a heart attack when I got the first quote back, and then decided to get a quote on a standard GTR rad which is nearly $1000 cheaper. Do the standards one work well enough Is my car going to get hot. The cars is a country car (And it get real hot out here) and very rarely does any city traffic light work, but does get driven hard on the country roads. And next yr will be doing a couple of track days. The car is currently making about 250 rwkw but was hoping in the near future to get it up to around the 300 mark.

Any help would be great as I dont want to spend money on a standard rad and modifing the car to suit it and find out they don't work well enough.

Cheers

Craig.

any idea why it started leaking?

Its just getting old. The header plates are way to thin for the car and the stiff ride of the GTR has started cracking the header plate around where the tubes go into the header plates.

I picked mine up from Race Radiators here in Melb, $660 inc GST

So there are lots of options from $400-$700 in aftermarket alloy radiators.

So im not sure how anything is $1000.

I think the reason its so dear is that it is no longer a up right rad it is cross flow so the tank are on the side of the rad and it is a real weird size. Ive tried all the big radiator places in SA and they where all about the same price.
