$17 on top of normal registraton, isnt that much when you think of it but times it by how many cars are on the road, you have millions. Don’t we pay enough taxes from our hard earned money, &^%#! find the money else where. Not in our pockets. Soon we will all be riding around on scooter or on bikes, cos of all of this cop cap, fines, extra cost on rego's etc. My 2 cents. Cheers Rob

its so they can fix our roads, if they arent as smooth as i hear japanese roads are, then im getting my beating stick and going to town!

yeah they r MEANT to spend it on the road, but pfft the transport minister couldnt even name 1 project they were gonna use the extra 60 million they will raise with the 17 hike.

It will probably go into bracks's drinking fund then he can say' i was fannnntaassticcc' again. :P

Wouldn't we all love to claim it?

Unfortunately it is only claimable if you have to drive around "for work purposes" eg. call-outs, onsite work, so it doesn't include travel to and from.

If you are lucky enough to claim it, you can claim per km (to include all on-road costs) - I believe the going rate is around 66c per km according to the ATO.

HAhaah move to QLD - we're a lil redneck backwards compared to you guys - haven't evolved as much.

Got picked up for doing 45km over july last year and got $240 fine. Now it's gone up to $500 odd but in NSW i hear it's $1500 and in VIC it's a month's suspension! :-( feel sorry for you guys

Try going 40km over now and see how lucky you are. $700 fine + 6 month licence suspension.

italians (or most europeans) take a lot less shit that we do before getting angry.. australian's don't stand up for their rights and as a result get constantly screwed over.

rego costs have increased fairly steadily ever since i've started driving.. When i started it was around $320 I think.. now its up around $460. Rego increases are a fact of life unfortunately. The current situation is pretty untenable..with the roads supporting non-road projects (which was never the way it was meant to be) . We have revenue raising thru cameras, government putting the foot up cops asses to pull anybody over for anything, large petrol taxes, freeway systems we have to pay top dollar for each use and still are shithouse, and now increases in rego. Victoria is not a good place to be a driver!

I think its a lot closer to $500 now - this applies to melb only of course, rural areas are cheaper, which sux [to me]. Used to have HCC which takes off the $140 registration, gee i miss that!

I used to claim travelling to and from work when I was dee-jaying, claimed the max each year of 5000kms @ 60 odd cents. gee i miss that too...

Anyone got a time traveller handy

/end pessimistic rant.

    • I used the radium thing, makes the whole parallel assembly a lot more compact compared to any other way of doing it
    • Racetronix also sells those ethanol content sensor bypass blocks. Adapter, Flex-Fuel E85 Sensor High-Flow Bypass, In-line No Sensor (ADF-FLEX-NS): Adapters - Flex Fuel | Racetronix Ethanol content sensor are originally designed to be on the feed line. These bypass blocks are meant to be ran in the feed line and not return. The continental ethanol content sensors have a 3/8" ID and not 5/16". This is why they are ran on the return line directly in conjunction with a low threshold sampling value VS in the feed with one of these blocks.    Haha we think alike, I used both original feed/return for 8AN feed, and one of the Hicas lines as a 6AN return. I also capped off and left the other Hicas line as a spare.
    • Interesting, I haven't read about the issue with oil getting into the speedo in the cluster before. I'll have to take more notice with mine. The speedo on my R32's when I've run factory diff and tyre size have never been accurate as far as I can remember. The non Type-M GTS-t did come with 15" 5 stud wheels and smaller brakes, but that's less than 5% of them.
    • Good to hear the condenser you picked up off my brother worked all good. Do you think there could be an issue with your AC compressor itself or the clutch on it then? I don't know a lot about them so I can't really help but keen to hear what it ends up being. Keep the build thread going man, it's nice to look back on over time.
