mate, you can't go past the business atire. You'll look your best regarless of whether or not you'll be dressing up that much daily for the role.

Remember, statistically, a person makes thier first impression of you within the first 7 seconds of meeting you so you want those 7 seconds to include a good presentation, a solid handshake and a kind and confident greeting followed by an appreciation for having you there in the first place.

so a good handshake and a "hello, nice to meet you, thanks for taking the time to talk to me today" will do you the world of good.

Also, remember that you'll be representing their company so if they see someone in jeans and someone in a suit, who do you think they'll have a greater confidence displaying their logo on?

Best of luck with it

Dave.

Agreed 100%.. good luck with the job

I always beleive that the attire you wear depends on the job you're applying for.

For a security guard job, I don't think it'll matter what you wear. just something NEAT and casual e.g. a polo shirt and dress jeans (not the ripped, multicoloured patchy ones).

On the other hand, if you were applying for an office secretary position, i'd wear dress pants, shoes and a nice shirt (with or without tie depending on shirt).

On the other hand, if you were applying for a professional position, i'd go full on out with a shirt, tie and suit.

yes i did.. thanks for the help.. i went in business attire minus jacket and tie.. looked very sharp and organised.. they gave me the job on the spot.. hopefully by mid jan 07 ill be working full time.. cheers to everyone who helped... there were 3-4 people who went for the job and they were all dressed casual jeans thongs etc etc.. they didnt get the job.. this goes to show that whatever job your going for always look your best..

thanks again!

i always go to a job interview thinking that there is going to be some absolute hottie thats gonna interview me - give me incentive to look my best for the interview. Just a little mind game that I play - and so far its worked pretty well - cos regardless of whether or not the person interviewing is a hottie or not - they get the impression that Im one of those professional guys who means business when I go for the interview. (if you know what I mean)

but congrats on the job anyway :P
