hey guys

ill enlighten you on the situation... the other night i was waiting at the lights when a ford mustang pulled up against me.... when the lights turned green i planted my foot down on the pedal...... i tried my hardest to pull away from the mustang but with a stock rb20det it wasnt good enough.... when i was reaching speed of 130km the car was struggling to gain higher speed.... is this because my ecu was cutting my speed...

cheers jason

No... Its called a stupidity sensor actually. Nissan fitted it to some cars, but not to others it seems.

Basically the car realises you are street racing, and it stops the party for you as its... illegal, stupid & dangerous.

Gimme one good reason why i shouldnt close this thread.

Yes it is, behind the left kick panel is your ecu, take it out and cut all the red wires out with wirecutters. This will let your car go much faster.

I have done this mod and my speedlimit is 243kmph. its not unlimited but i guess its good enoung.

I was told if you cut all the wires with stripes on them it runz 44psi and makes your injectors 1000cc

Somebody should say something constructive:

PSI R32 - As you can see we are all having a go at you, pulling the leg, please don't do what you do - don't race on the street. Join up here and go racing at Wakefield, WSID, or Oran Park etc instead. dragging, drifting, racing.

This forum is a great source of information, parts, help, idea's and just for making friends. And we all try in our way to discourage illegal street racing/hooning etc. We want you to enjoy your car, but do it in a way that you can live with. Too many good mates don't live through the impulsive years, we are all just trying in our way to stop you doing anything stupid. Come to a few events and learn to appreciate your car at so many other levels.

Help us to make it better.

AFAIK factory speed limit is 180km/h ...sounds more like ur stock blower was running out of puff

But seriously dude...if ur gonna race..do it at the track..chances are you'll get more attention/cred running a 10 sec pass on the strip than occasionally winning a street race against a mustang with a driver who couldnt tell a stick shift from his left elbow!!

    • The SS button head cap screw on the back? If so, good to know. I presumed it was there for basic assembly and nothing more.
    • Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum. I have a 1989 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR. I have lost all power to the interior, including AC controls, the gauge cluster, turn signals, and windows. Stuff that still works includes the horn, brake lights, radio, and headlights. All fuses, in the interior and exterior boxes, tested good.  It starts and runs fine, just with no gauge power or anything stated above. No warning lights either. Things that I have tested: - Fusable link tested fine - No other fuses blown - Alternator good - IGN switch tested fine - With my power probe, I can backfeed power through the IGN pin to the plug on the back of the gauge cluster, and everything comes back on.    So my theory is something on the control side that sends the ignition power through the system isn't doing its job, or a wire is broken. (I would think that it is the ignition switch that would do that, but who knows?). The ignition relays don't fire (all relays tested good). So what tells them to fire other than the IGN switch?  I would really appreciate it if someone had some insight on this. I have tons of hours into this; I don't want to give up in defeat! I have the HD wiring diagram, but having all those wires laid out like that on one sheet of paper makes things pretty hard to follow.  Thanks for reading, and thanks for the replies.  Where should I look next? Thanks.
    • Install a MAP sensor pre and post throttle. Best data you could have for NA, then play with the bends and/or air box and see how much of inflection is created at WOT on the plot.
