On behalf of Qikstagea I can confirm the rear lights are S1 - He did have a nice set of clear side indicators - but the left side got squished by the pole. Motor is completely stock. Surprisingly the FMIC is still intact

I have bought the blow off valve, throttle body and weather deflectors.

hey mate i seen ya post i wasnt sure if u meant the same things so i posted anyway  sorry for trying to steal the goodies

Hi mate - wounded when I saw the pics of your ride up mate ;) - I was hoping it was some sick PhotoShop joke - anyway like you said its only metal at the end of the day - you walked away and thats all you can ask for I quess.

If you've got 'em I'm after the little clear lenses on the interior roof lights 'cause mine are cracked, and also the high level brake light assembly if thats still in. Small packets to the UK shouldn't be too bad I guess but I'll pay the price anyhow of course. Cheers mate and here's to your next ride! :)

yeah i sent him some money for a fuel cap, but now he wont answer any pm's and i sent the money over two weeks ago

...and he has logged on to the forums but is ignoring my PM's!!!!!!!!!!!

now i guess every one has a "little" of rob in them :(

That's very sweet!

I hope Rob doesnt mind me replying on his behalf...I didnt know the guy until I went round just to poke my nose under the tarp covering his beloved car. Back then - a couple of weeks ago, he was being very philosphical about the accident. But, as with any post truamatic experience, by now the reality will have set in, along with the nervous shivers that you get every time you think about what 'could' have happened.

I'm sure the rest of his family are constantly reminding him of 'what if' and while they probably dont mean any harm, sometimes the off handed remark can cut deep into a bruised and bloodied conscience.

It would be next to impossible for him to go outside and strip bits off the car without reliving the whole emotional experience. If he has ever gone outside to look at it again since I was down there, I would be surprised.

I suppose there was some truth hidden in one of Rob's early post when he said that if any one wanted anything they would have to come around to get it.

The grille has become an icon of survival.

Anyhow, I'll shut up now and let Rob speak when he wants/needs to.

    • I have a VALCON if anyone wants it, I have no idea why you'd want to have VVT specifically broken out of the ECU as opposed to running it off the FCON/whatever standalone you have.
    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
    • Transplanting the vvt from a 25neo into an rb26?
    • Well, I was going to say, "Is the wastegate set up so that it is not leaking?" That's actually a different thing to what you're asking about. In theory, if you have allowed the two halves of the manifold to commmunicate (more than the stock manifold does - which is at least a little bit) then the negative effect should be apparent in delayed spool, not in outrigth power. OK, maybe just maybe, a badly set up twin scroll wastegate "crosstalk" might kill the top end, although it's hard to see how. What is happening with the original wastegate in the turbo? is it sealed off properly. If it's left flapping in the breeze, it will f**k everything up. If it is still there, and can be returned to service, I'd be capping off the external (presuming the two halves can and will be isolated from each other after doing so) and have a go with just the stock wastegate. I have an internal wastegate in my highflowed rear housing. The bigger opening and flapper should be fine to >250 rwkW. So there's not exactly a pressing reason to have the external. Done right, an external will give better results. Done wrong, it might just be possible to have worse results. Report back!
