For the love of god - i can not get this thing to work - can any one in the WORLD help me. Some one who has been there done that or at least knows of some one that has?

Willing to pay for info!! :(

what exactly is the problem?

Brad, took you all of two minutes :)

exXU1, Dave is in Qld and won't be back this year. Have you checked the fault codes?

This is good guys- making a little more sence .

This is how i have it set up--- ABS out - EMS in place and car tuned.Hicas gone.

All other sensors - speed- Attessa computor , G sensor all in place .

. need to know where we go from here /

Have had a chap - auto sparky have a look and he is simply LOST.

Hasnt chopped any thing.

I need Dave or the likes to provide an in depth solution if possible - have sent a PM to him but as mentioned- he is away.

Thank you for the search and efforts - please keep it comming. This car is not a N1- just a GTR 32 getting ready for drag situation- 26/30 - currently 600 attw @19 psi - getting preped for the main tune - but would like in 4wd.

cheers lads :P

We still don't know what the problem actually is. I'm guessing that you don't have AWD after replacing the ECU and removing ABS.

If so, then the question needs to be asked - how will ATTESSA know when you have wheel slip? I'm pretty certain it uses the ABS wheel sensors.

The other input it needs is a signal from the TPS. Wolf EMS has a "black box" unit to perform that function.

well, on the r34 gtt's the abs is controlled by a differant box independent of the ecu. so for the r32 may be the same

its been a while so ill have to check the shop manual but i assume the abs and attesa have their own ecu, and shouldnt be directly affected by your ems.

need more info - you dont have abs? but want attesa?

you may need the abs ecu to be running properly for the attesa to work. maybe plug in a dummy load to make the abs ecu think the abs unit i acutallly plugged in.

Fellas ,

i do have a complete manual including all schematics.

The fault codes are as follows.--- Flashing on the Atessa computor under the parcel shelf in the boot - red flash -- 8 then 19 then 21. So -- who knows where to go from there ?.

I truly believe that there must be some one out there that has been thru this and has the answers, its simply exceedingly expensive to engage an auto elec, i am resonably competent as i am a refri tech - but certianly need some guidence.

ok

error code 8 is ABS Motor, Motor Relay or Curcuit

error code 19 is ETS Motor, Motor Relay or Curcuit

error code 20 is ETS solenoid or curcuit

the attesa stuff starts on CH-57 (manual) or page 336 (acrobat) in the service manual

i believe you NEED the ABS sensors for attesa to work (as it uses them to detect wheelspin)

Edit: Flowcharts from manual dunno if it will help

Dave,

Looking at pages ch-66 and ch-259 ets and abs section schematics, It would appear that the ets controller commands the abs unit.

There are a couple of inputs from the abs module that the ets controller is looking for..

I'll have to check on my ets module to see which inputs and what logic levels you need to get it up and running, but from first impressions pin 11 (link off abs motor in) on the ets needs to get linked with pin 1 (ign). Unsure about pin 5 and pin 7, depending on wether it needs an input on those or just switched to earth....

Anyone else have an opinion?

Good luck.

James.

ps. Looking at the pages i said, the wheel sensors go straight to the ets controller.. same as what I can gather from the harness scematics fig1 c1, and fig5 w3.

well, the attessa computer has three wries going to/from the ecu. in another thread we were discussing which sensors atessa uses. im 100% sure attessa reads the abs wheel sensors (the attesa computer does after all controll the abs too).

are the wheel sensors plugged in? what have been removed from the abs?

the main question here is..

was it working properly before the ems went in?

(apart from the usual problem of not continuing the tps.)

you need to connect pin 56 to pin 38. ie cut the wire at pin 56 and splice it into pin 38,wich is the tps signal.

when youve done that you need to adjust the tps so that with the car running it sees 0.4v with the tps closed.

:)

OK - you were correct - the electrical connectors to the pump its self were disconnected- Erroe codes now whilst running are ---8 and 21 flashes?

Where do you recommend i go from here - follow the advice above or different - be nice as i am trying my best here --Ha Ha - explain like to an idiot if you wish?

from the sounds of it.

theres some shit unplugged. like the attessa relay next to the fuel pump relay.

or the motor its self.

(code 19)

no abs hooked up WONT MATER.

it will still work fine. just will be flashing the code 8.

Yep. I agree with this. What I said before was just for the abs error on the ets controller. Nothing to do with the 4wd. Hope that I didn't confuse anyone.

I can't see any reason how having the abs unit disconnected would stop the 4wd from working unless it either needed a clean error code listing, or something in the ets side was borked.

21 is what T04GTR is saying about the tps signal not getting to the ets controller. page ch74 for the pins, and testing method.

James.
