if... IF... Mclaren lose this case and Alonso indeed does leave the team, theres absolutely no way i cant continue to cheer on the silver arrows with someone like Hamilton at the helm. What a shame this all is.

I would just be repeating myself if I said anything further about the FIA & Ferrari.

Wouldn't worry about Alonso. I am sure Ron Dennis would have what could only be described as a fk off big buy out clause in his contract. With the Santander sponsorship tie ins & all the publicity there is no way he could just leave.

F1 cars now looks like some abscract artists nightmare induced sculpture.

getting passing into F1 is simply.

get slick tyres of a compound that will work amazingly for 5 laps and shit for the other 15 of their life (meaning people on different parts of that cycle will be quicker and be passing and vice versa).

re-introduce H pattern boxes as you quickly find out who can drive and a miss shift heading up the straight means your passed. a miss shift under brakes means your engine is gooone.

no more traction control. at all.

let the cars front spoilers be lower. as they are so high they end up with turbulent air underneath when following each other which takes away their front end grip

then we have some action.

I don't agree with H pattern, maybe a semi-auto shifter... either as is or using a stick shifter, but still semi-auto... With the rest, I agree though...Get rid of the winglets too, and game on!

That is obviously Andrea De Cesaris, but I can only guess it is also Betrand Gachot. Is he out of jail, now?

I would nominate the Tyrrell-Honda...

As an aside it looks like the FIA are going to do McLaren over good & proper.

some interesting links there... very interested to see what the outcome is, personal i don't think you can place the blame on Ferrari, yeah they might have the FIA in there back-pocket but im pretty sure the outcome would be the same any other team was in Ferrari place.

Be interested to see how it affect the sport

edit

was just readin the itv website i and saw this

But if the team is found guilty, the punishments could range from a contructors' points deduction and a heavy fine to a full disqualification from this season and 2008.

this would surely hurt the sport, as many fans would place the blame on Ferrari, turning them away from the sport

If the FIA do find McLaren guilty, I hope they only get a fine. As a fan of the sport (and Ferrari for that matter), i don't want to see a top team denied the right to race.

At times i wonder if the FIA even like motorsport, they tried to bugger up WRC, and they constantly change F1.

You don't have to wonder. Just look at the history of sports car racing.

i SWEAR F1 has all guns drawn and is hell bent on denying McLaren the fair opportunity to win this bloody championship!

look what happened this morning!

are they in the wars or what??!! Gearbox this, team mates bitching that, spy scandal whatever...it doesnt stop.

Whats with all the sympathy for McLaren. Its looking more and more likely that they had their fingers in the cookie jar. They deserve more then a smack because they are not 6yr old kids. If what is being thrown around is true then no problem kicking them out of the season. I cant stand cheats in sport.

Hi people,

I'm a fan of F1 but not to the extent of you guys. Very informative thread and enjoy the reading, i have nothing intellegent to say here but just saying this, what a top thread. well done all of you. :whistling:

So let me get this straight..if they're found guilty (which obviously means they were guilty of cheating) and with cheating comes a disqualification, you think they shouldn't be denied the right to race...?

Are you all there or what? If you cheat, you do not have the right to anything except to be disqualified. A fine is nothing! we're not talking about you or me here, we're talking about a top team with cash coming out of their ass, a fine is less than a slap on the wrist

Finally some f**king sense has been posted.

After the crash the medical car picked up Raikkonen and brought him back to the Ferrari pitbox. Raikkonen looked completely fine and will have to use the team's spare car in today's qualifying session.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the Italian team can place the engine and gearbox in the spare car. If they won't Raikkonen will face a grid penalty of ten places.
