Agreed.

Hamilton is now lauded as the greatest thing to come out of the UK. You can't catch the tube without the free papers detailing what he had for breakfast, and how he's England great sporting hope (Well, they're not winning anything else).

Still, that's not his fault.

Hamilton IS a great talent, but it's been ..... aided..... by the fact he hasn't needed to really smoke anyone.

I can't remember seeing him getting in a down and dirty race with Kimi or Felipe (or Alonso really) and overtaking for the win. He's done it in the Pits, but I can't recall him doing it on the track, unless the leader was damaged (Though, I admit my memory for some of the GP's is a bit faulty, due to the fact I often have mates around to watch... a few beers... etc.)

Lewis did well in the rain to stay on track, but he didn't have to worry about spray and poor visibility. When he was coming up on the people who had yet to pit, he just hung back, (Sensibly) deciding to just sit pretty and wait for them to go away.

I don't think anyone here disputes that he's got fantastic talent, that'd be just stupid. What everyone is disputing is that he's got a lot to do attitude wise if he wants to be remembered in the sport as anything special.

HE doesn't have the rain driving ability of Senna, Schumacher, or even Raikkonen or Webber it seems.

Drive of the day went to Kimi as far as I'm concerned..... and I hate Ferrari, but to come from last to 3rd in those conditions, well, it's the sort of thing that schumacher would have done, and he was no slouch behind the wheel.

Maybe Lewis could have done similiar, maybe it'll rain in china and he'll start 10th and blitz the field. We'll find out.

Until then he should just STFU and concentrate on racing, rather than being a media darling. With all the coverage, it'll be "Prince Lewis" before long.

I know you're a fan M3, but seriously, while I'm in London, all I ever get is Hamilton news about unimportant crap, and stories comparing him to Senna and Prost now. I think we can all agree, he's good, but he's no Senna.

I was watching those laps and i think its more a matter of Lewis being a bit of a tool and pulling Webbers chain, only for Webebr to take none of it and force him to keep a more even pace with the pace car....as i said in an earlier post i think Vettel just got caught out by the foxing going on up front as with visibility being what it is and his level of experience.

But i too saw the footage, but cant agree. With Lewis its very much a matter of beign critical of others ppls racing moves, overtakign/ driving standards when he is doing the exact same thign, Only he has the pR machine (James Allen) that make out its oh so perfect and everyone around him are unfair, bullies or reckless

The ITV commentary is almost getting as bad as Ten's. We either get a Lewis loven fest, or two boring no idea commentators.

Well you can't really blame Hamilton for the ITV commentary. Atleast they have STFU about Button.

Anyway, good work Lewis.

Not so good work whoever the spanker was from Ferrari sending drivers out on anything other than monsoon tyres.

I am in for a little carpark fracas on lewis and vettel. show them a bit of aussie hospitality. I can be proud that I've never been on the lewis wagon and now public opinion is starting to turn against him it's bringing all the other crackpots back to my side of the fence!

let's hope webber magically gets a drive at maclaren and that when he does the car doesn't flip upside down on him.

haha i know, ITV just shouldn't be alowed to talk about British drivers  , I swearthey've got the tent already to go camping when they talk about a British driver who is doing well.

yeah we shouldn't torture ourselves much longer. imagine what the comentators would have said about webber had he won?

"brilliant drive by mark webber, drove nearly the whole 60 laps with a helmet full of spew, and hussled his inferior car around without any mistakes to claim his maiden victory. a well deserved win by the australian."

who knows!

im sure it would be along the lines of " Wonderful drive by Hamilton into second place, Jenson Button did a supreme job and finished a solid 11th and Anthony Davidson with another stunning drive finishes in wonderful 17th place. The british drivers really performed the best this round. Oh... I almost forgot to mention, M Webber came 1st.. not bad for an aussie"

Then play him Happy Birthday on the podium like they once did to Alan Jones when they couldn't find the right anthem....

it was 4th. and I'm sick of DC being there to catch the scraps from marks table when he either gets:

1. taken out with car failure

2. taken out by some muppet

3. poor strategy effectively takes him out anyway.

BASTARD!

can you tell I'm bitter!?!?! lol.

if mark goes through the rest of his career without a win I will be bitter about this for many years to come. at least if he takes a win somewhere else I won't feel so bad.

As long as Amrk continues to push hard and doesnt blame the car and drive for his mid field position....keeps his positive attitude (itodays comment about forget it and move on)....then he and RBR will enjoy some success.

I know its a long time off....but 2009 with Vettel or Bourdais and another year (2008) of development...well Webber has to keep beign positive and moving forward. He needs to be sure he is ready for his chance.

I seriously think Button is over it. He seems to have accepted that he wont get resutls because of the team and car...adn has just accepted it. This year Rubens seems to be the more motivated of the two...though granted there isnt much to be excited about. I question whether he would be able to do much with a good car anymore as he has been institionalised to being midfield of late

I've been on that side of the fence from the very beginning
