2007 F1 Season

Recommended Posts

yeah, I mean if anything for most of the race alonso was the better prospect for WDC than hamilton by a long way and yet he barely rated a mention. suggesting that hamilton would come from 12th or whatever back up to 4th then have alonso move over whilst they are level on points? they must be farking dreaming. I couldn't believe they kept crapping on about hamilton fighting back, talk about hoping against hope. It was never going to happen unless he had a car out of mario kart that could shoot turtle shells at people and drop banana peels, or maybe use the lightening bolt that makes all other cars small and slow and crushable. then he would be in with a shot... :D

Looks like RBR were/are heading in the right direction pace wise towards the end of the season. Hopefully they can work out the reliablity issues of the damn car and finally get some podiums! I really hope they get it together over the off season!

Louise had come clean and stated that it was a wayward finger that hit a button on the steering wheel that caused the gearbox situation. I have to say the painful defeat for Lewis will be a good thing. So far he seems to be handling the bitter disappointment pretty well, and most importantly isnt blaming any one situation or anyone, though he has every right to be sounding off on the numerous situations that have hurt this years WDC attempt.

If he keeps his head down and stops being such a media machine and airing the teams laundry to the media then i may actually start liking the guy. Alonso is still on a mission to hammer the team by telling the press what they already know...that McLaren threw away the championship. I think he is now trying to get booted sp he can go drive for another team. He has dstated that Renault is not his first choice, so where? BMW is about the only team i can see using him and him wanting to be at. Kubica is quicker then Heidfeld, so maybe its time for Heidfeld to return to his roots at McLaren and Alosno to BMW.

LOL, so you have all ready it here first. Heidfeld and Alonso to swap (even though they both have contracts with current teams) and RS to Williams :D

Massa your a such a little bitch its just not funny any more. You are now the joke of the field. To lose to a new teammate when this years championship was so perfectly geared towards you is amazing. You had better get down and lick Jean Todt's feet because he's the ONLY reason you'll be in a decent car next year... with no traction control for next year, get ready, kimi is really going to hand your ass to you

lol, Massa had such an unlucky year, he had sso many problems that were out of his hands, poor strategy by Ferrari, his car stalling off the line etc etc.

he drove away from Kimi in the race and the only reason why he finish 2nd was because he did the right thing by the team and let Kimi pass. if you notice once Kimi passed he pulled back but on the last lap he push it really hard (had the fastest 1st sector) and i think he may had run the fastest lap of the race. Im sure he did it just to show his fans that he was the fastest but had to do the right thing

Massa is not lucky to be at Ferrari, he is a great driver and a great team player :D i hope next year he has better luck and can really fight for the championship

lucky or inlucky massa is not deserving of his seat, kimi had just as much bad luck with his year but still managed keep in touch. And considering Kimi was struggling until he got to France, it further continues to undermine massa's ability. He is an unspectacular, average, gutless driver

Bring back the schum

lol thats abit harsh for someone who finish 3rd in the championship, plus this is his first season where he would have been given equal chance to win the championship at Ferrari. dont worry he will be much better nxt season :sorcerer:

Webber and Bourdais should swap seats...then Bourdais can become a nobody in F1 like Mark and Webber might actually be able to win something

Cannot disagree more strongly with that. I have a lot of time for Massa, his attitude and how he goes about his racing. He may nto be great in traffic, but much of that stems from respect for the car and other people, unlike some moves that other pull that may work, but are paramount to "move unless you want to crash out of the race"

So he isnt great in traffic, but outqualified Kimi how many times? How mnay races did he win...he is almost uneatable from the front row. I like him and i think he is a very versatile driver who i woudl rate in the top 5 or 6 drivers in F1. So wjy doesnt he deserve his Ferrari seat.

You must be aware of how ludacris that sounds. He cant be a good driver if he cant drive in traffic. Its called racing, not circulating. I think the reason he seems so upbeat all the time is he's trying to model his behaviour around Schumacher. Seriously mate, get your own personality.

And he bloody better win if hes on the front row. Considering how these cars interact with airflow and the straight line ability of the Ferrari he's essentially unpassable. Look at the The land of goat sphincter rings GP for a perfect example. Kimi was immensely faster but could do nothing to get past. If Kimi had gotten past he would have left him for dead. If god forbid he was dropped by the scuderia and had to drive next to Rosberg from the fourth row, can you seriously tell me that he'd match up well? i have serious reservations about his chances.

The fact that he consistantly qualified on much lighter fuel loads than Kimi has little to no bearing on his ability. So he beat kimi by 2 tenths with 3 laps less fuel. What is that saying about his ability that Kimi has more race wins than him?

The list does go on. The reason he doesnt deserve his seat is that there are better drives that should be given the opportunity to make racing interesting, because he's sure as hell not doing anything. My prediction is that when traction control is removed his true weakness in tyre management, smoothness and race craft will be clear for all to see.

You could be right. But i am saying he has won 5xGPs. Has had several dominant weekends, notably the sphincter of the universe 2006/2007. I think you are being a bit one eyed when looking at hwo he races.

Take for instance an interesting little stat...average lap times for 2007. For the first 8 rounds of this season... Massa was quicker then Alonso 4 out of 8 times. So thats 4 each for average race pace. If he didnt have the failures/problems he wouldnt have started way back in the grid in Melb and Silverstone and hurt his average lap times. Mind you Kimis avberage lap time was closer to Massas when the roles were reversed and at in Hungary Kimi had to fight back.

But his performances and speed are there. Back in his Sauber days he use to be captain chaos in traffic, much like Rosberg and Hamilton are these days...they are often messy passes where they put their car and the other competitors on the line. And how many other drivers fail to carve through the traffic? Very few have that ability...i see it as more important that he doesnt generally surrender positions.

This year i recall Hamilton getting past him and Alonso banging past him. He isnt soft and easily past. Bridgestone engineers themselves said in the instance of the tyre damage when Alonso got past him, he did a great job to be even driving the car.

I think its easy to already see his weaknesses as his weaknesses are Kimis strenghts. His in and out lap for pit stops and his aggression coming from the back of the field are where they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. His strength is actually Kimi's weakness, where he is very disciplined and had a great work ethic. And there is no way he behaves like Michael. In press conferences he is always bubbly and smiling and positive. I have on a few occassions seem him down beat, (GP where Alonso past him)...but yeh. I disagree. :turned:

lol if this report is true LOL!!!

`Hamilton accidentally turned off his car`

Lewis Hamilton has allegedly confessed to accidentally shutting down his MP4-22 during the Brazilian GP, which McLaren later claimed was a gearbox failure.

Going into the eighth lap of the grand prix, Hamilton's McLaren lost power for roughly 30 seconds dropping him down from fourth to 18th place.

The team later reported that the rookie had suffered a temporary gearbox failure.

Hamilton, though, has now allegedly confessed that it wasn't a failure but he had in fact accidentally turned off his car.

"My finger slipped on the steering wheel and I accidentally pressed the button used for the starting sequence," he reportedly told French-language daily newspaper La Presse.

"The car went into neutral and I had to reinitialise the system, that is, reload the gearbox management program."

McLaren have offered no comment on the story. But it is worth reminding readers that only yesterday Ron Dennis spoke out angrily about the amount of inaccurate reports appearing on the internet...

Mike, looks like the tables have turned..you beat me to this one like i did to you recently...

Guys, i have the onboards and ive played it again and again and again...

It was his fault. His LEFT Thumb slipped off the steering wheel like he was pushing a button on his PS3 controller and then he was frantically reaching for gears with his right hand fingers a split second later, losing driv all the time.

It was his fault!!

Lewie, why did you have to throw it all away! You had not one but TWO bloody bites at the cherry, a situation almost no other driver has EVER had and you messed it up!!

#crying into dinner...#

Im going to put this video into imovie and download a shot of EXACTLY when he did what i KNOW he did that McLaren is strenuously denying...

Oh god... that is too good. Now ITV can stop blaming mclaren as a team and lay ALL of the responsibility at Hammo's feet, talk about choking

how you lose a 17 point advantage with two races to go is utterly mind boggling
