2. Adrian Sutil

3. Alex Wurz

4. David Coulthard

Whingey B'stard of the Race

1. Jenson Button ("my car's cr*p")

2. Flavio Briatore ("my driver's cr*p")

3. Ron Dennis ("BMW made a cr*p tyre choice")

Interesting comments.

I can't see DC being replaced, not from a team as big as RBR. I also think it's great that Button spoke out and said the truth about his Team, Honda has done zero for his career.

No they wont... but i also think Kovalainen will improve exponentially during the year. Last week was a bit of nerves on a new track in his first race. He'll get the get of it, he's Finnish.

Fisi will continue to produce the same mediocre results all year, much like he does every year.... God i cant stand him and his bullshit. Did you see the sunnies he wore the whole time he was in the paddock? the ultimate in gayness

this season will be fascinating boys and girls let me assure you.

im so stoked for lewis hamilton, hes such a meticulous driver and the move around the outside of the world champ into turn one at the start of the race can tell you hes not afraid of anyone. Unfortunately for Lewis, Alonso had the better strategy. Imagine if lewis had finished one step aove Alonso on the podium..that wouldve sent some MAJOR ripples throught the sport and most importantly through Alonsos psyche! I might be the only one thinking this but i am SURE Lewis will win a race this year and he will do it soon.

shame the race was such a bore otherwise..

Theres talk of making Albert park a night race with the track all lit up to coincide with the dubai GP to be hosted a week earlier.

now THAT would keep me awake infront of the telly!

maybe many of you have seen this but its a first for me.

Heidfeld going nuts on the snow in his BMW! very cool.

how many times have you seen an F1 car doing this?? just listen to the cars traction control going bunta.

Cant wait to see the footage of the BMW F1 cars hit the full Nurburgring in a few weeks. WIll be interesting to see how a modern F1 car handles the bumps and what lap time it punches out

yeah that would be exciting to watch, what sort of the lap time would it do? the unofficial record was 6mins11 by a porsche i think.

I would like to see them also go on track when its open to the public.. would be very interesting haha.

Dont DC will be replaced, but this year will probably be his last year.

Honda has done nothing??? apart from the bit where they paid Williams about $40million to release Jenson from a contract :glare:

SCHUMI TO RE-ENTER F1

Michael Schumacher is reportedly on the brink of a multi-million-pound buy-out of the Scuderia Toro Rosso team. According to the Gulf News, the seven-time World Champion is keen to own a F1 team and has targeted Toro Rosso as the outfit he'd like to purchase. The report continues claiming that 'he wants to link up with Ross Brawn, the mastermind behind all his World titles, to form F1's dream team. 'The ex-Ferrari driver and team technical wizard Brawn, now enjoying a world-wandering sabbatical, have already formulated a plan to re-enter F1 as big-time bosses.'

"Formula One has given me everything - and I'd like to give something back," the newspaper reported Schumacher as having said.

The German's manager Willi Weber added fuel to the reports by saying: "It is only one thought - but I can see the sense in Michael buying out an existing operation." One person who would love to see Schumacher step into the role of team owner is Bernie Ecclestone. The F1 supremo said: "Michael has been such a fantastic figure, a real legend, he would be welcome back to the scene in any capacity. He could count on my help anytime."

    • Yes, but it's not as easy as pulling a fuse on anything other than an R32. There's a routine you have to do, involving disconnecting a loom plug and bleeding down the preload.
    • A question for tuning awd, is it possible to disable the AWD? The stagea is an EA/T AWD, Toshi had said on a GTR, he was able to disable it and make it 2wd. Just wanted to double check if this was possible
    • Whoa, that's a name I've not see for a long time! Sorry to hear about the engine / turbo damage.  Fwiw with any engine problems it often really a case of just seeing what happens when it's apart, ymmv - I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the damage isn't even from the turbo failure, or possibly from a combination.  The airflow between cylinders isn't dead even, injectors can go off over time as well, with the turbos overboosting if you didn't have upgraded fuel system there could have possibly been a bit of leaning out - stock triggering is often a bit unreliable by this age too.  Basically its an old engine and a few things could have been going on, and you won't know how much work is needed until the engine is apart.
    • I'm just shocked there's a euro driver on our roads who is thinking of other road users and not attempting to blind everyone. I wonder if Prank uses his indicator too...
    • Its hard to tell really. The Q50 owner's forum talks about it a lot and has quite a few people directly affected, but no idea what % of cars sold actually had the block replaced. Also, there seem to be 2 distinct issues which both get diagnosed by Infiniti as requiring a block replacement (no wonder they are going broke) 1. "Porous block" where coolant mixes with oil through thin or poorly cast parts of the block 2. Head coolant gallery plugs not sealing. If I was noticing engine coolant loss I'd start with cooling system pressure test (as always) and then I'd pull the cam covers and reseal the coolant gallery plugs on both side before worrying about a potentially porous block.  If neither of those did the trick it would be put in a second hand engine out of japan; I haven't checked pricing but I'm sure there are plenty around by now as they've been in production 10+ years
