Eug
Hamilton holding pole position Coulthard, Schumacher and Barrichello are out. Vettel hanging on. ctjet
wow... good fight between the Mclarens, webber got his first good showing for the year, so much happaning at times. Vettel did a good job, Heideld was making more than his fair share of mistakes... and Renault seems to be on the ball. Heikki looks like his adjusting to the car finally, which menas hopefully Fisi is gone at the end of the year and males way for Piquet Jr. Ferrari are in real trouble, but not as much as Sato LOL Edited June 17, 2007 by ctjet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/149406-2007-f1-season/page/31/#findComment-3184287 Share on other sites

ctjet
Personally, the way in which Lewis and Alonso came out arm in arm to prove a point to the brittish media was a little cliche for me... im sure Ron loved every second of it, but even as a massively devoted fan i was a little embarassed at the specticle. funny that not one website makes any reference to it at all Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/149406-2007-f1-season/page/31/#findComment-3184968 Share on other sites
djr81
The two things I found a bit wierd were Alonso swerving toward the pitlane after failing to overtake Lewis & also why wasn't he wearing the dodgy oversized "suit" that they wear at the press conference so the sponsors logos show up? I am sure both of those things will piss Ron Dennis off hugely. Bit of a dull old race other than that. Rosberg was well unhappy, as you would be. The Super Aguris showed glimpses of their blinding speed. benm
Anyone else think the half turn of extra front wing that Webber got during his 2nd pitstop may have cost him 6th place? He had Trulli covered on the infield all day long but couldn't quite get close enuff down the straight to make a pass into turn 1 (well successfully anyway). What worries me about Webber is his seeming inability to consistantly manage clean overtaking manouvres. How many times this year has he speared off whilst trying to outbrake someone? wolverine
webber has struggled to make clean passes which either means his skill level isn't quite there or other drivers know that if they don't yield then webber will probably out-brake himself. my solution: if webbo clips someone on the way thru they will respect (or fear) him next time. someone fast and reckless behind you is a good reason to yield. Marco-R34GTT
ahhh the old sato mentality... i like, i like "Now I overtake on corner 1!!! need massive concentration...." "Now I come to turn 3, loose concentration"... "Now Taku... Spin out and make it look like an accident"... poor Taku... Got a little wide heading into four.... Kaido_RR
poor Sato, i think that penalty was alittle harsh, dropping 10 places for so called overtaking during the yellow flag whats happen to Ferrari, they dont even have the pace to keep up with Mclarean, straight from the start they start falling behide i hope they got some good upgrades coming for the car or else they are in trouble even thou im a Ferrari man, damn those Mclarean are fast Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/149406-2007-f1-season/page/31/#findComment-3189102 Share on other sites
sav man
oh it's good to see Alonso getting spanked But i'm a Ferrari man, Reikenin better pull his $50mil finger out, and start chasing win's instead of strippers. ctjet
Quoted from greman newspaper and translated into english... One reason why Ferrari may have lost its edge Ferrari's lack of competitiveness in recent races has been a surprise after such a strong start to the year in Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain. It seemed that McLaren had improved significantly and that Ferrari had stood still. No-one seems to understand why and Ferrari is, by nature, rather secretive and so does not always allow its problems to leak out into the outside world. One possibility is that Ferrari has been having troubles with its windtunnel. The team relies heavily on its Renzo Piano-designed windtunnel, rather than running two windtunnels like some of its rivals. The team is investing heavily in CFD technology at the moment and intends to use much more of the virtual technology rather than building a second wind tunnel. This is a sensible strategy but the problem is that if the main windtunnel is out of action, the team may struggle to keep up. Modern F1 windtunnels work round the clock and parts do become worn out as a result. The tunnels require "down time" for suitable servicing. We hear on the grapevine that about a month ago Ferrari suffered a failure of its rolling road system in the Maranello windtunnel. The rolling roads in the modern F1 windtunnels are made from a steel belt, which circulates at around 180mph. If a rolling road breaks, the damage can be considerable as lumps of metal fly around at 180mph. The word is that this may have been what happened. And that Ferrari has been in trouble ever since.
