Hey I think Duncan is right ,

would we be talking about Hamilton if he were in a different team? i think not, sure he has driven very well but when you have either the best or second best car in the current year its far easier to win and place.

I have'nt read every post in this forum guys so i'll ask this are you guys aware of the controversy about the Ferrari technology being handed over and shared illegally to a McClaren employee? And since it has come out in the open Ferrari is back on top, there has been evidence found by the English police at the McClaren employees home address, and its alleged that the Ferrari employee also tampered with the fuel they seem to have found a white powder trace.Ferrari will be seeking disiplinary action against McClaren thru the FIA. :D

The theory today is that Nigel Stepney and Mike Coughlan were going to leave their respective teams and take Ferrari's IP (interlectural property) with them to Honda

So they blame has officially shifted blame for a third time

Here's a good read about the latest develoments:

Slow-responding Fry earns McLaren`s wrath

I thought it was brilliant psychologically from a guy in his 3rd race ever.

It made me think back to Lowndes at Bathurst 94. He showed he was something special overtaking Bowe around the outside. LOL, he later showed that he could have just as easily binned it by out braking himself. Butyeh, Lewis showed great maturity and race craft for a guy in his 3rd F1 race.

So he may not hang out at strippers and drink cans like Kimi did...but as a rule i do like Hamilton. He is a talent. But my only gripe is so are other guys out there. Time will tell. Mansell's WDC was courtesy of Williams, the car won the championship. But before that he had proven his merit over the years in different cars and different circumstance. Fast forward to 2007 and Lewis has stumbled into almost todays equivelant of the FW14B. Hamilton has made the most of his opportunity, but was fortunate to be given the chance in the first place.

See of Ferrari can continue to challenge

See if Ferrari can continue the challenge?

Roy where have you been in a time warp?Ferrari have won the last two races very convincingly and the years score is Ferrari 5 wins to McClaren's 4 wins.

trust me.. we are very well aware of it but some dont seem to really give a shit as to how it will affect the championship and guaranteed, if this goes down the way those i know within the sport say its going to happen, then this is BAD news for Mac and great for Ferrari..

jeez...

your not exactly quick off the mark are you?

isnt that article like 2 weeks old?

holy cow roy!! do you understand what you are saying????

the FW14B was THE F1 car of the century!

ANY BLOODY driver could have won the WDC in that technological beast!!

sheesh!

hamilton doesnt have the advantage yet hes rubbing established noses in the dirt with or without that edge..! I LIKE that..

and F#$K what anyone else thinks.

I still think that the F2002 was a very dominant, very fast, ultra reliable, yet very pretty car, when compared to its contemporaries...

Like to see how this legal action goes down... What would the FIA do to penalise the McBoys if found guilty of theft or conspiring to steal intellectual property???

My point being, Mclaren on any given weekend are either the quickest or 2nd quickest team. All other teams are nowhere near Ferrari or McLaren over a race distance. So he is driving one of the quikest 4 cars on the grid. So placing in the top 3 is a no brainer if he races clean and well, which he has been doing. The odds that a team mate has a gearbox problem, problems with pit stops and pace cars, Massa or Kimi car problems in quali etc. means he will be there at race end.

Whilst the McLaren isnt as dominant as the FW14B, it is clearly one of four quick cars. Other teams are nowhere at present. MClaren had hamstrung themselves past seasons with poor car reliability in practive/quali and cars have started all too often from poor startign positions. Reliability this year has been strong.

McLaren are quick but they employ cheats

I think part of Hamiltons skill was to get into Mclaren in the first place so for me he deserves his success. I love the fact this young rookie has turned the otherwise stuffy old boring sport of F1 on its ear and made it interesting again...anyone who bags this young kid is either jealous or belongs back in the dark ages when Coulthard use to win races

It is amazing how quick Ferrari fans are to chuck accusations about. Guess they know how to cheat properly.

Ron Dennis is one of only a few team directors (Him & Frank Williams) whose integrity has been unarguably floorless over the years. It has not been alledged that McLaren gained from the Ferrari information, nor that even Honda has.

On a happier note, here is hoping that Piquet jnr can land a drive with Spyker as a prelude to getting a Renault seat next year. His old man in the Brabham was just awesome & if the kid has anything like his talent he will do very well.

shit is going to hit the fan.

Coughlan and his wife have signed sworn testimonies detailing how they got 500 odd pages of ferrari tech info...

this problem has the potential to split the championship wide open....

many times in the past the WDC has been decided OFF the track..and this year looks the same..:nuke::)

Hamilton is nothing, I put a Jordan on pole in my first grand prix by 9 seconds....... :) :laughing-smiley-014:

Sorry bought my first F1 game yesterday......

+1 for Piquet Jnr. Seems like he is fairly arrogant and likes to make his mind known just like his old man but I reckon he will do well.

Hopefully Bernie is right and this won't affect the drivers championship.....although it is hard to see how that is fair is someone has gained an unfair advantage. But as it has been so close all year I don't really see how they could have. Time will tell.

As much as a love Ferrari, it won't mean shit to win the championship if mclaren are DQ or stripped of points.

Jos the boss used to do alright in Arrows in the day. But from the few A1 GP's i've seen he hasn't set the world alight.

Can't forget the "Supertech Orange Chello Arrows", in 2000 with Verstappen and De La Rosa at the wheel.... 2nd favourite team back in the day.... Sad day when arrows closed its doors...

    • Ok glad you clarified on the frenchy’s options , I was worried about if my oem hoses would fit the new compressor or not if I just bought the bracket/compressor kit ,  didn’t realize they also sold a larger full conversion kit. Hmm may just go oem in that case then to make it easy only because I plan to sell this car to upgrade to a 32 GTR or 34 GTT.
    • Right, here's a video of the basic operation at least.  This is what you can expect day to day when you turn the car on and it boots from standby.  The only thing from a media point of view I haven't gotten working is for it to autoplay plexamp when it turns on from standby (it works from cold boot) but that's more of a plexamp problem as it will autoplay other music players.  Also attached is my one stray cable.  It's part of the screen's wiring adapters but there's just nowhere for it to go in my car.  I've just now done a bit of research and found a matching port on a 2010-2014 head unit with BOSE.  Mine has no BOSE so that's that case pretty much closed I think.  Plugging in the Infiniti AC panel basically did nothing for me, so that's a dead end as well.  Next port of call is to mess with this CANBUS module and see what I can find from it.  I found this resource containing the DBC files for a 2010+ G37 : https://github.com/icecube45/Dash_InfinitiG37/blob/master/InfinitiG37.dbc I'll now have something to go from when I try to extract my CANBUS data so I can see if the HVAC Mode, Fan Speed, Temperature, etc. match and also the gear shifter position.  It's a pretty big assumption that it's just mismatched CAN signals but considering all the devices in the CAN network are talking to each other (AC can be fully adjusted just with no info on screen) it might be a safe one.  I will report back WhatsApp Video 2025-02-26 at 12.49.10.mp4
    • Thanks for that Paul.  Do you think if I posted a picture you'd be able to remember where it went?
    • Sorry Duncan, I didn't get a notification for the replies.  Thanks for responding!  It's a full Android device, but does allow you to use CarPlay/AA as well.  This is the one I bought from NaviRS on AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006368602668.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.111.59aa1802JDzQ0E - the 2K 8G-256G CAM variant but it seems to have gone up by £170 since I bought it!  My purchase was £307.14.   It's not the fastest thing in the world but performs perfectly adequately.  It stays on standby unless I disconnect the battery and let it power down, then it's just a fairly standard Android bootup time from cold.  The DSP Equaliser is very nice and made the standard stereo system sound pretty decent compared to the stock screen.  Perhaps I can take a video of it when I get a sec. It *allegedly* supports the reverse camera, but I'm yet to get that working.  It has options for reverse cam (a camera unit can be bought separately) or 360 cameras (also bought separately).  To be fair it doesn't seem to detect that the shifter was put into reverse but I'm working on a theory about this as well.  At the moment I'm going without which is a bit annoying considering the car is an absolute canal barge but so far I haven't caused any damage I'll grab a picture of the wire I'm missing later today when I can get outside.  My theory, by the by, is that not only is the head unit different, but the CANBUS network has different signals for the different years.  I think this because I have a spare AC panel from a newer Infiniti G37 (as opposed to my Nissan panel) which wouldn't control anything except the volume when I had it wired up with the stock system.  I'm going to throw it back in and see if the screen will respond to it.  I've just ordered an arduino CANBUS module so I can have a look at the signals going around the car and see if I can spot anything.  I'm thinking if I can work out what it's expecting vs what it's getting I might be able to translate and relay the signal back but so far just a theory anyway. I also found this on my travels, so far the only one that specifically matches my car: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002822934280.html?spm=a2g0s.imconversation.0.0.33433e5fgttovi If you look at the picture of the before, it has the card reader slot, and the picture of the head unit is exactly the same as the one pictured in my original post.  I asked if they sell the cables separately but sadly they won't.  I didn't want to just buy this one because it's a super old Android version and only dual core - likely slow as hell.
    • As above, you did refill the coolant and burp the system before running it again didn't you?
