F@#KING VETTEL!

Seriously, Mark was set up for his maiden win, or at worst, a career best 2nd place.

I'd imagine that Hamilton wouldn't have defended too hard though, he'd rather have finished 2nd then DNFed, so Mark was in with a better than even shot at the trophy.

Poor bastard.

Everyone pool together, wish really hard and hope thaan Ron Dennis drops Alonso and puts Webber in the other McLaren. Then we'd see some Aussie racing.

It was a great race from Webber though, and up until the last safety car, I'd have said the same of Vettel too. Now, well, he'll be lucky to get the next race, after DNFing two of his bosses cars. That boy will be reamed a new arsehole.

that was THE most chaotic race ive seen in years!

YEEEAHHH! LH for drivers champ!! you go boy!

I cant believe Vettels dumbass, noob move on Webber under the SAFETY CAR FFS!"!!!!!!

Webber was robber of 2nd. The dumbest thing ive seen this year. bloody idiot, screwed it up for both teams BIG TIME.

Kubicas move on LH was almost as dumb.

Alonso has well and truly cracked and has lost the championship. LH kept his head, kept it on track, and deserves the win.

You can knock him all you like, that was the drive of a champion. FA's was the drive of a man on his way out of Mclaren.

MAN, that race had it all!

the last lap scraps between Kubica and Massa, and KR and HK were bloody amazing!!

Yes, the last lap scraps were pretty good, fought all the way to the wire. Kimi did well to finish where he did.

Still, when I saw the Red Bull car on the wall, I thought it was Coulthard, then the announcers say that Webber is off, due to Vettel's idiocy, I lost control and yelled "F@#K!" at the top of my lungs. The girlfriend comes running in asking what's wrong and looks at me funny when I say Webber is out. She actually said "Doesn't he usually crash in a race?"

I warned her that further outbursts like that will result in her removal from the low paying, but high benifits position of being my girlfriend.

No way you would want Webber in a Mclaren. Sure the car is quick...but RBR have the ability to be doing what BMW have doen this year. I doubt there is any chance of him getting a drive ith McLaren...just cant see it happening...but even if it did, then...

There is no way Mark will have a chance of winning the WDC or races with Lewis as a team mate. Firstly there is the question of whether he could actually be quicker??? Perhaps on occassion but not consistantly. Then there is the fact it will take any new drivers 5 to 6 GPs to gel with the team. By then Lewis will have a big points lead...so the season will be LH with Webebr doing what DC did for Mika and Kimi all those years..

So many other reasons why i wouldnt want Webber at Mclaren....he is on a good wicket at RBR and needs to keep his passion that saw him have an outburst today. That hunger will eb rewarded with results and the team he is with

Seriously most unlucky driver ever, feel so sorry for him...

Did you guys also hear that he was sick, and vomited in his helmet!!? What a terrible day for him, i really really hope he can turn his luck around next season and get further up to the front end of the field!!

ct why the bloody hell you jumping around and saying that fuji is shit? calm down. that track just produced the most chaotic, action packed, edge of the seat race weve seen for years.

you sit there now and tell me how anyone but God himself could have predicted and orchestrated what happened.

There were dozens of incidents ALL through the race!!! LH will deservedly win the title, alonso is a shattered and rattled man, KR has his balls back, Kubica has a sizey set of his own, Webbo is the most unlucky driver in the paddock, Vettel is the dumbest, renault were damned LUCKY, massa has a brazilian temperament to end all temperaments, sato didnt give a shit whether his car was on fire or not, sutil proved hes a deft hand in the wet and nearly scored Spykers first F1 point and liuzzi scored TR's maiden point of the season, in spite of the fact his team mate is a bloody idiot.

bring it on again, i say. At least in Fuji, weather will be a factor in everyones race.

how the hell do you know that? are you serious???

They said it in the coverage...crook in his helmet while behind the pace car

bloody hell... if thats true, what he managed to do before being given the shaft by vettel was truly remarkable...

a true digger. australia should be hella proud of Mark Webber.

...and channel 10 still playing highlights of World Cup...where is our driver briefing. Fark i wish these idiots hgave me a job!!!!!!!!!!!

you think thats bad..coverage here in japan cut straight to golf for f**ks sake, just after the drivers crossed the line.

guys go PM me and you can have all the races you want...P1,2,and 3, Q1, 2 and 3, race and onboard to boot.

dont forget to thank me when you do so... :P

I didn't realy like the Fuji track, but you can't deny that was one of the best races of the season. Ferrari's tacktision was clealy on drugs today, Reikenin was great on the rain, if only the team had made the right choices. IMO Hamelton was pushing his luck under the safty car, it's good tacktics, but it's asking for a accident. I'd be interested to see where Hamelton was when Vettel hit Webber. Not that i'm blaming Hamelton, cause Vettel should have had his eye's open, but I had wondered if he had started a consitina.

Im curious as well. if Hamilton was doing som pretty random stuff up front. Something may come out over the next few days

quote of the year

is that what Webber said? i walked in to 10 apologizing for his language.

I may not be a big Webber Fan but he deserved that position he was one of the few drivers that managed the conditions -- just look how Alonso fell backwards after his pit stop. So we ca look forward to this sort of action every second year now? :sorcerer:

there were a couple of incidents that we missed. cant blame the director...shit was happening everywhere.

It was the lap they before they were about to go green...it wouldnt be hard to imagine hamilton trying to bunch the field up, he did it on an a number of occasions but he has every right to do so...if thats the case, webber saw it but vettel didnt react fast enough. the germans fault, plain and simple, no matter the explanation.

the other thing we missed was how alonso put himself in the wall... he obviously lost in in turn 5 and at speed... at least hes okay but i think we can safely say hes lost the championship well and truly now...

after next year we can, Suzuka is coming back in 2009.

i want to see both ferraris punished for disobeying whiting's orders that the WHOLE field start on extreme wets. BOTH ferraris started on inters clearly defying race control....

cmon Mac, wheres the challenge?

i think Mark's being very generous here with his words...

Mark Webber has slammed "wild" Sebastian Vettel for costing a shot at fighting for the win in Sunday's Japanese GP.

When the Safety Car came out following Fernando Alonso's huge accident, Webber and Vettel were lying second and third in the overall classification. And the two drivers, both of whom had led the race at some stage, were looking good for podium finishes.

However, it ended badly when Vettel overcooked it, driving into the back of Webber when they were trying to warm their tyres for the restart.

Naturally Webber was furious.

"That was a completely disastrous finish. We were in very, very good shape to challenge Lewis for first today," he said.

"We were strong and I didn't make any mistakes despite the tricky conditions, cars were aquaplaning and the visibility was very poor. Fernando's crash caused the second safety car stint, which bunched everyone back up again.

"That wasn't great; I would have liked to have continued to the end of the race.

"Vettel was a bit wild behind me during the first Safety Car period and then did a very good job of hitting me very hard under the second safety car. I think today he will have learnt a very valuable lesson."

its what you were thinking Sav man...

Sebastian Vettel: I made a good start and the race was going well. Then, with the final safety car, I was behind Lewis and Mark and exiting Turn 13, I looked to the right and saw Lewis going really slowly, I don't know why, but I thought he had a problem. Probably he was heating his brakes. Then, by the time I looked forward again, I was already in the back of Mark's car and I think he had also reacted to Lewis. I apologise now to Mark because I ruined both our races."

but i think Mark smelt blood and the red mist had started to decend...

Lewis Hamilton - "We had the safety car and I was constantly on to my engineers to say tell the Red bull team to tell Mark (Webber) to make a little bit more of a gap, as with the pace car in front I couldn't go any faster."

    • I swear at my GKTech ones every time I have to take them apart and replace a spherical. But I wouldn't swap them for anything else. They absolutely slay every other option, at least in terms of how they actually work. You sure you don't want to live with bearings? I mean, they don't have "ball bearings". They are rod ends and sphericals throughout. Tough as nuts, even though I have found more than one way to wear them out.
    • From when I was looking at getting the 86 engineered for the turbo, the joint said to put in a few euro 5 or 6 cats, then tune the car on a nice clean E85 tune When I was looking at a turbo for the MX5, it was basically the same thing, a couple of cats and a nice clean tune Although, it will depend on the year of the Jeep IRT emmisions standards required, and what mods are done, especially if it has a newer engine installed that requires a higher Euro
    • Yeah - but it's not actually that easy. There are limits for HC, CO, NOx and particulates. Particulates shouldn't be a concern in any petrol engine unless trying to comply to the very latest Euro standard. But getting a tune right so that all the others stay within limits AT THE SAME TIME is not a trivial exercise. You couldn't possibly get it right by just guessing at the tuner's dyno, unless he had a 4 gas analyser up the pipe, which is not often the case these days. It used to be. Every decent shop that did "tune ups" (as opposed to tuning) would have a 4 gas analsyer. Perhaps there's still quite a few of them around these days. But most "tuners" are only watching O2 and power readings.
    • Slight segway but the most expensive part of the whole thing which I would have thought would only be required for an engine size/type swap, not a VIV test, is emissions testing.  That's when you get into the big bucks.  I can't remember the exact price now but I got quotes for the GT-R based on swapping to RB30 (not that anyone bothers doing it legally anymore...) and it was around $4500 just for that alone.  The guy that does them manipulates the tune on the vehicle to make sure it passes.  The cheaper option is to book into Kangan Batman Tafe (I think that's where it was) and hire their tester.  Allegedly you're not allowed in there with the car though so not in a position to tweak anything to make sure the vehicle passes.  I'm sure in this day and age of ultra tuneable ECU's you could get the tuner to program a special efficiency (clean) tune that emits the lowest amount of particulates possible that would pass the test.  It might only make 50kW's but as long as it passed who cares!
    • I'm sure he has left signs, or, he is looking down, laughing That's my cunning plan for when I leave, lots of half finished projects, with no rhyme or reason of where I was actually up to, just to keep everyone on their toes
