hey all just got a new set of 17s for my 95 r33 gts25t, just wondering what ppl think about them.

http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e354/85_gsr_cordz/r33/ pics are there. wheels are avanti force 17x8 with yokohama s1-z 235/45 tyres all round. anyone know how good these tyres are wet and dry? nad how much ppl paid for these tyres if they have them. grip is so much better than the 225/50 16 nexen n2000 that were on the car before.

Hey mate, thats heaps better than stock , will handle better too!

But i also have to say im not a fan of the wheels.

Each ot ther own man, they dont look ugle but if ur buying and choosing they arent something id go for.

Clean looking skyline by the way! :)

they actually not my first choice but the ones i wanted wouldnt fit the front as the were hitting the caliper, so they measured them up and found that there bigger than standard gts25t calipers, but that said i really like them dont look as good in pics though

Yeah the front calipers can be a bitch, the owner before my current r33 shaved a bit off the front calipers to fit the wheels on . i didnt like the idea of that but whats done is done.

In real life they would look heaps better i bet.

They are by no means ugly man they definently make the car look better!

normally "aussie" spec rims wont fit onto skylines due to hardly any of the locally produced cars having 4 pot fronts. fords, holdens always seem to have twin piston sliding - which makes for very easy caliper clearance.

that said... yokohama make very very good tyres... all my sets up to present have been yokis and i wouldnt touch anything but. (except for maybe semi slicks)

Their stocko brakes. Aussie wheels/cars don't have the right offset for cars with brakes like most jap imports have. You could always have run spacers - it isn't street legal though. Tidy car though :)

yeah the weird thing was they had fitted a set the wheels i originally wanted on a 94 r33 just before christmas , thats why they were sure they would fit. is the much clearence between the rim and caliper with the standard rim as there was only about 5mil clearance with the stock wheels. i just had a read up of these tyres and there speed rated to 300km/h and are sposed to be one of yokohamas best tyres
