PHATR32
do you's realise the pump has a fine mesh filter on it which will pick up these "flakes" even before they pass through the pump and filter. of course it wont filter out the smaller stuff. BAMR33
Not a myth, a guy I know went through two 040's due sediment clogging the internal filter. I'm diffently going to give mine a clean out before fitting a new FP. MMM
the pump sits at the bottom of the tank all the time!! its a load of crap that it picks up shit, id say it would be more of an overheating issue.. btw thers a filter on the pump and a filter on the line to the engine! its not an issue and its a big myth! IOWNU
In my opinion it is not a myth. In my GTR i usually fill the tank up as soon as the fuel light comes on, I never take chances. One night my brother decided to take my car out and when I got it back it was low on fuel, on the verge of conking out. So I had to put in 5 bux of normal unleaded from a dodgy petrol station in order to get to the next BP. I don't know whether it was the crap at the bottom, the normal ULP or a combination of both, but the car starting coughing and spluttering and misfiring, had to have all the injectors cleaned before it was running smooth again. Therefore, I will never take a chance with the bottom of the tank sediment theory..... geno8r
^ wouldn’t that just be because that $5 of unleaded was only 92 octane? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/149667-myth-or-fact/page/2/#findComment-2800466 Share on other sites
Kinks
^ I agree. Far more likely you got bad fuel. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/149667-myth-or-fact/page/2/#findComment-2800517 Share on other sites
