Is performance greatly improved by a twin dump pipe?

The following is a quote i got from Genei exhausts:

Twin dump pipe 650

hiflow cat-stainless ?? 375

3" mandrell mild steel 450

3" muffler mild steel 160

Total $1580 dyno before and after was the best price I could get out of him.

Isnt it normal for the muffler to be stainless and the cat mild steel rather than vice versa as in this case?

To me this is still bloody expensive (for an exhaust) and was wondering if you would still get the same performance increase from the smaller shops such as Streetforce and QuickFit etc for similar system.

Every exhaust place i ring has a completely different view on exhaust systems for skylines.

So basically what Im asking is what is the best exhaust combo can you get for a reasonalbe price?

4" dump pipe into a 3" mandrel bent system, get a hiflo cat, and a ricey barrel muffler.
