Been thinking recently about how tough it's getting for modified car owners, and also re-assessing what i want in a car.... while it's fun to have something that's quick and nimble, there's always a trade-off (in the case of my '32, it's comfort, NVH, driveability etc)

I've always wanted a nice cruiser, that's comfortable and easy to drive, and the way things are getting with police attention these days, sleepers that don't attract much attention seem to be the way to go.

I was looking through a caryard a little while back, and came across a Toyota Aristo - very sedate looking sedan, but with a mighty 2JZGTE under the bonnet and supra running gear :)

Had a good look at the car - they're very well appointed in terms of features/extras etc... not sure how they drive, as i'm yet to drive one, but from what i've seen of them, i don't think they'd be too bad....

Now getting older, my focus on what i want from a car is changing.... it used to be to have a good handling/quick car, but these days (in my old age :P) i'm leaning more towards comfort and driveability, not attracting lots of police attention, but while still having a bit of poke....

what does everyone think?

p.s. if i got one, mine would be black, with possibly sunroof/leather (if i can find one in good condition :)) preferrably with alot of the option boxes ticked, and i would just put a nice exhaust, some nice wheels, air filter (still in the factory box) and some dark tints on it.....

i like them and have seen them a while ago.They are a nice car only if you can get one in manual,hard to find i bet like the JZX100 chaser mrk11.

strangely enough, I can understand EXACTLY where your coming from.

Alot of people are getting into the performance sedans away from the coupes these days as they look less of a taget for police,and when hey look that good why not.only need a few mods to get them hammering.

they are a very nice car. you will have a good time in one of these. but i would get it shift kitted if it was me though, or manual conversion, but thats just me, i hate auto's.

if you really want the car, then get it. your opinion is the only one that matters, just think it through :)

Looks pretty cool. I have been watching heaps of top gear lately so there might be some other influences here, but the interior is foul. Looks like a standard camery interior. Rest of the car looks cool and as you said, would be great in black with leather, sunroof and dark tint.

yeah man they are tops, there are a few older ones with the twin turbo V6 in them....

remind me of a stagea, high power in a big car. sooo much luxury you dont need a girl, just go sit in the car and you'll be right.

nice car get one.

umm that would be twin turbo inline 6 :)

you can also get 1uz powered versions, some with 4wd (v8 only),... all are autos unless someones already convereted them.

and you're not alone jason, i'm seriously considering one of these or a jzx100 chaser as my next car..

nice car they are .. personally u wouldnt like the ride of it too ..much body roll..downside is most of them are pre96 models only .. if i where u id rather wait till nissans Gloria and Cedrics come ashore .. most of the 34 Running gear while others are pretty much the V35 Skyline running gear.. as some of you said the interior in these things are plain .. id rather the JZX 100 Chaser in the Tourer V form much better car overall , but i do understand where you comming from i love my skylines thats why ive got the 34 for weekends and my chaser for daily driver they think its a cressida lol

I think they look quite camry, especially in stock trim and would cost you good $ to take a standard one and make it look tough.. but can't argue with them being a good car.

like nismogirl said.. there are going to be a shitload on the roads starting probably right about now, so the 'non-attention' factor may wear off fairly quickly.

I reckon you should still keep the 32 if at all possible.. for weekend and track duties and get the aristo for the daily cruiser. I'm going to be doing similar this year. I don't think I could totally give up the point n' shoot, noise, and rawness of the skyline in manual form. I did it before, and it sucked.
