Anguss R33
Ohh my gosh, that sucks dude! I was nearly run off the motorway in the R, this dude in a ute came onto my side (obviously didn't look) and I was forced to pull over onto the median strip! Lucky he didn't hit me... For his sake! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/15-god-damn/page/3/#findComment-293 Share on other sites

JiMb0
Heh heh heh, I'm trying to work on this thing with Suncorp Metway at the moment to see if I can get the insurance under my fathers name and have a higher premium in a case where I am driving the vehicle and at fault .... anyone have any other suggestions for a cheaper way to get comprehensive ? Or anyone who will do Third Party Fire & Theft in NSW would be nice as well  Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/15-god-damn/page/3/#findComment-297 Share on other sites
two40
That's the way. Get it insured under your fathers name. Lower premium, higher excess. My mate has his car insured under his grandma's name. Pensioners insurance. He owns an XY. Can you imagine a granny in an XY. JiMb0
Unfortunately most if not all insurance companies will base the premium on a Grey Import on the age of the youngest driver, so that is of no benefit to me (eg Just Cars). I have put off several quotes to Suncorp and it's very confusing as to what they will and wont allow. I even question most of the responses they give and get more confusing answers back... Anguss R33
Good thing to get the car insured under mum and dad, it will be heaps cheaper but be careful! When I had my accident the insurance company tried wiggling out of it because it was insured under dad. Thing is the car was under his name and I hadn't finished paying it off so they couldn't do anything about it! Just makesure you back yourself just incase... 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/15-god-damn/page/3/#findComment-300 Share on other sites
two40
Don't put youself as a nominated driver. Just make sure the insurance covers un-nominated drivers and you'll be sweet. You'll end up paying big excess fees but very low premiums. Not many ins. co's offer cover for un-nominated drivers with grey imports though. Anguss R33
That's right, just makesure you read the fine print! They put in little letters that I was to only drive the car 3-4 nights out of the week! Shame on them, I never took it to work because of the kit. I only ended up driving it 3-4 times a week! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/15-god-damn/page/3/#findComment-302 Share on other sites
